Abstract: Provided is a method for preparing a thiogallate-based green phosphor which is lowered in heat treatment temperature, does not use additional flux or toxic component and improves the efficiency of a phosphor. The method comprises the steps of mixing 0.5-1.1 mol of an alkaline earth metal precursor, 1.8-2.2 mol of a gallium precursor and 0.001-0.5 mol of an activator precursor to prepare a metal mixture, adding sulfur to the metal mixture, and ball milling the obtained mixture to prepare a thiogallate-based green phosphor precursor; and heat treating the obtained thiogallate-based green phosphor precursor at a temperature of 700-1,000 deg.C under the atmosphere of a mixture gas comprising nitrogen and hydrogen. Preferably the alkaline earth metal precursor is a sulfide or nitride of a metal selected from Ca, Sr and Ba; the gallium precursor is an oxide or nitride; and the activator precursor is a compound of Eu or Ce.

Abstract: Provided is a method for preparing red phosphor based on sulfide of alkali earth metal having improved luminous property at the condition excluding solvent and noxious ingredient for decreasing a temperature, in which heating is achieved at lower temperature than conventional method. The method comprises the steps of (1) dispersing an acid solution containing 0.5-0.9999 mole of alkali earth metal precursor and 0.0001-0.5 mole of europium precursor dissolved therein, into distilled water to prepare an aqueous solution of metal mixture, (2) adding an aqueous solution of sulfate and sulfide of metal of period 3 in elements periodic table to the aqueous solution of metal mixture, adjusting a pH of the solution to 5-10, and filtrating and drying the solution to prepare a precursor of phosphor based on sulfide alkali earth metal sulfide, and (3) heating the precursor at 600-1000 deg.C at the atmosphere of mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen gases.

Abstract: Provided is a method for preparing a red phosphor based sulfide of alkali earth metal by coprecipitation and pH control, which does not use a separate flux for decreasing a temperature, and uses a mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen in place of noxious gases such as H2S or CS2, and thus is expected to have environmentally and economically excellences. The method comprises the steps of (i) dissolving 0.5-0.9999 mole of precursor of alkali earth metal and 0.0001-0.5 mole of europium precursor into acid to obtain an acidic solution, dispersing the acidic solution into C1-C5 alcohol, and adjusting a pH of the solution to 3-5 to prepare a mixed metal solution, (ii) introducing an aqueous solution of sulfate and sulfide of period 3 metal having pH 8-10 to the mixed metal solution, to adjust a pH to 6-8, and then filtrating and drying the solution to prepare a precursor of phosphor based on alkali earth metal sulfide, and (iii) heating the precursor of phosphor at 600-1000 deg.C at the atmosphere of mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen gases.
