Abstract: Vent assemblies movable between a vented position and a non-vented position are described along with reservoirs in which the vent assemblies may be used. The vent assemblies each include an aperture and a closure member. The closure member is configured for movement along a cam surface to generate a compressive force such that a sealing surface on the closure member is forced against the wall of the reservoir and over the aperture such that the vent assembly is in the non-vented position. The closure member movement may be, e.g., rotational or linear (i.e., translational) when moving between the vented and unvented positions.

The assembly includes a coating liquid flow path connecting the inlet portion to the liquid nozzle. Opposite the outlet portion, a spray gun connection portion is designed to connect the nozzle assembly to a compatible spray gun body. This connection portion includes a nozzle alignment feature that aligns with a corresponding feature on the spray gun body.

Abstract: Provided are nozzle assemblies for a spraying apparatus having an outer wall (146) having opposed inner and outer surfaces, a central aperture (136) extending through the outer wall, and a pair of auxiliary apertures (158) disposed on the outer wall (146). Each auxiliary aperture is aligned along a respective auxiliary axis (162) and areas of the inner surface (164) of the outer wall (146) adjacent to the auxiliary apertures (158) are countersunk to define ledges (166) that are axially symmetric about the auxiliary axes (162). These assemblies obviate problems associated with rotatable molding pins and also provide the unexpected advantage of providing axial alignment of the air flow profile as air is emitted from the auxiliary apertures.
