Abstract: A painting device, which is equipped with a paint head that ejects paint. The painting device includes a supply path that supplies paint to a coating head, a return path that returns the paint not ejected from the paint head to an upstream side of the supply path, and a paint head that is equipped with a paint circulation path 41 that is divided into a plurality of sections. The plurality of sections are individually cleaned in order from the upstream side of the paint circulation path, and after washing is completed and the next section is being washed, the paint is sequentially filled into the upstream section.

[Solution] The coating machine of the present invention is a coating machine comprising an inkjet type coating head having an ejection surface on which a plurality of nozzles for ejecting coating material are provided, the coating machine comprising: a robot arm comprising a plurality of arm members at least including an arm member that holds the coating head; an arm control unit that controls the position and attitude of the coating head by driving the robot arm; a supply passage for supplying coating material to the coating head; a cleaning liquid supply unit which supplies cleaning liquid to the coating head via the supply passage; and a cleaning control unit which controls the cleaning liquid supply unit, wherein the arm control unit controls the driving of the robot arm during cleaning of the coating head so as to change the attitude of the coating head from a specified attitude to a tilted attitude in which the ejection surface is tilted relative to the horizontal plane, and the cleaning control unit drives the cleaning liquid supply unit to supply cleaning liquid to the supply passage in a state where the attitude of the cleaning head has been changed.

Abstract: A painting device equipped with a painting head having multiple nozzles that discharge coating material toward an object of painting. The painting device includes a supply passage that supplies the coating material to the painting head, and a return flow passage that returns, to the upstream side of the supply passage. A portion of the coating material supplied to the painting head that was not discharged from the multiple nozzles is possessed by the painting head, wherein the supply passage, the painting head, and the return flow passage constitute a coating material circulation passage. The coating material circulation passage is divided into multiple segments, each of which contains at least one of the multiple circuit component parts arranged in the coating material circulation passage or the painting head, and wherein the coating material circulation passage allows the multiple segments to be cleaned individually.
