Abstract: A three-position disconnector switch includes an earthing contact, a power out contact, a power in contact, and a piston. The power out contact comprises first and second parts connected by a leg portion. In a first position, the piston contacts the first part of the power out contact. In a second position, the piston contacts the first part of the power out contact and makes electrical contact with the second part. In a third position, the piston contacts the second part and makes electrical contact with the earthing contact. The piston is configured to move along an axis of the three-position disconnector switch to transition the three-position disconnector switch between the different switch positions.

Abstract: A power conversion system includes a high voltage (HV) switchgear; a solid-state transformer; and a low voltage (LV) switchgear. The HV switchgear connects to and disconnects from a HV network. The HV switchgear connects to an input of the solid-state transformer, which comprises first and second modules. The first module converts an HV alternating current (AC) signal into a HV DC signal, and the first module converts an HV DC signal into an HV AC signal. The second module converts an HV DC signal into at least one LV DC signal, and the second module converts at least one LV DC signal into an HV DC signal. Abstract: A three-position disconnector switch includes a platform, a power in contact, a power out contact, an earthing contact, and a piston. In a first position, the piston contacts the power out contact and the power in contact. In a second position, the piston contacts the power out contact. In a third position, the piston contacts the power out contact and the earthing contact. The piston moves along an axis to transition between the different switch positions.
