Abstract: The present invention relates to a an electromagnetic flowmeter for measuring flow of fluid flowing in a conduit of the electromagnetic flowmeter, wherein the electromagnetic flowmeter comprises: a coil attached to the conduit and excited by an excitation unit to generate an electromagnetic field to interact with the fluid flowing in the conduit, a shield magnetically coupled with the coil, a pair of electrodes mounted on the conduit for measuring potential difference generated by the interaction of the electromagnetic field in the fluid; and wherein the at least one coil and the at least one shield is provided with an arrangement to displace the at least one of the at least one coil and the at least one shield to adjust the interaction of the electromagnetic field with the fluid.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of configuring an electromagnetic flowmeter and an electromagnetic flowmeter thereof. The method comprises: obtaining a first correlation factor between flow rate of fluid and potential for a calibrated condition of the electromagnetic flowmeter using a model; obtaining a second correlation factor between flow rate of fluid and potential for conditions of a site in which the electromagnetic flowmeter is installed using the model; comparing the first correlation factor and the second correlation factor to determine a difference in value and adopting the value of the second correlation factor for configuring the electromagnetic flowmeter if the difference in value exceeds a pre-set threshold.

Abstract: An electromagnetic flowmeter for monitoring a flow rate of a fluid includes a conduit and an electromagnetic assembly coupled to the conduit to generate a magnetic field inside the conduit. A ring assembly modifies a velocity profile of fluid arranged on an inner liner wall of the conduit. A position of the ring assembly is adjustable along the inner liner wall to varyingly reform the velocity profile of the fluid. A pair of electrodes mounted to the conduit detects induced voltage generated within the reformed fluid due to the magnetic field. The flow rate of the fluid is determined based on the induced voltage.

Abstract: A method for calibrating a surface temperature sensing system configured for determining a surface temperature of a measuring object, wherein the surface temperature sensing system comprises a first surface adapter and a temperature measurement unit; and wherein the surface temperature sensing system is mountable at the measuring object using the first surface adapter, the method including thermally coupling the temperature measurement unit to a surface of a calibration object at a second surface adapter; determining a temperature of the surface of the calibration object utilizing the temperature measurement unit; and determining a calibration value, based on a comparison of the determined temperature of the surface of the calibration object with a calibration temperature of the surface of the calibration object, for calibrating the surface temperature sensor.

Abstract: The present invention provides for a method for operating an electromagnetic flowmeter capable of being mounted on to a surface of a flow pipe for measuring a flow of fluid flowing in the flow pipe. The method comprising: exciting the coil to have electromagnetic interaction with the fluid in the flow pipe resulting in leakage current; providing a current to compensate for the resulting leakage current in the flow pipe by applying a potential difference to electrodes that are attached to a housing of the electromagnetic flowmeter and in contact with the flow pipe; detecting a condition wherein the resulting current flowing is within a threshold range; and determining a measure of flow in the flow pipe based on a value of the applied potential difference.

Abstract: An electromagnetic flowmeter and method for measuring a flow of a fluid through a conduit includes utilizing at least two coils, at least two electrodes, and a control circuitry. The at least two coils are electrically excited to generate a magnetic field within a flowmeter fluid space. First and second coils are placed around first and second central axes of the conduit. The at least two electrodes are arranged diametrically opposite to each other to detect an induced voltage in the flowmeter fluid space in response to the generated magnetic field. The control circuitry for measuring the induced voltage on each of the at least two electrodes provides a measure of flow of the fluid.
