Abstract:
The invention relates to the promoter of a rice glycine-rich RNA bindin g protein gene and its use for expression of heterologous proteins in plant tissues, including tissues of the plant embryo and seedling.
Abstract:
A method of making a transgenic plant by transforming into a host plant a recombinant DNA construct that expresses in the transgenic plant a rice polypeptide and the transgenic plant thus produced.
Abstract:
A transformed tuberous plant cell or a transgenic tuberous plant containing a heterologous nucleic acid that includes a sweet potato sporamin promoter operably linked to a sequence encoding a polypeptide.

Abstract:
Novel gibberellin 2-oxidase (GA2ox) genes were identified. GA2ox5, GA2ox6 and GA2ox9 were three genes encoding class C20 GA2oxs in rice. Mutations in the conserved domain III were found to affect the physiological activity of class C20 GA2oxs. Mutants or transgenic rice overexpressing GA2oxs exhibited increased tolerance to multiple stresses. Methods are described for enhancing stress tolerance by overexpressing GA2ox in the plant.

Abstract:
An expression vector comprising a promoter capable of directing expression of a coding sequence in an angiosperm cell, and a 3' untranslated region of a rice alpha -amylase gene, wherein, after the coding sequence is inserted into the vector, the 3' untranslated region and the coding sequence are transcribed into a single mRNA. Also featured are methods of producing a polypeptide in angiosperm cells using such a vector.
