Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to record a measured result and a measuring range with respect to one object to be measured by one recording pen, by recording the measuring range dislay indicated by a range detection signal. CONSTITUTION:The titled apparatus is equipped with a recorder 12 for recording a measured result by a recording pen on the basis of the radiation measuring signal 100 of a radiation measuring instrument 10 which is, in turn, equipped with an ionization box type radiation detector 14 for detecting radiation intensity and a potentiometer 16 for displaying a radiation intensity detection signal to a meter and outputting the radiation measuring signal 100 corresponding to radiation intensity while the potentiometer 16 is provided with a range change- over switch 16a to constitute the titled apparatus so as to be capable of selecting and setting a measuring range corresponding to an object to be measured. Therefore, the measured result of the measuring range selected by the switch 16a is recorded and displayed to the recording paper of the recorder 12.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a measurement error due to the contamination of a collector pole with a radioactive gaseous substance being ventilated, by a method wherein an intermediate electrode is placed between an inner wall of an outer case and the collector pole. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate electrode 20 is placed between an inner wall of an outer case and a collector pole 12 in the outer case 10. A distance between the intermediate electrode 20 and the outer case 10 is set so as to exceed a maximum range in the air of a radioactive material. The intermediate electrode is formed in a spiral, and a terminal 20a is connected to a high-voltage power source 16. An ionization current measuring device 18 is coupled to a terminal 12a of the collector pole 12. A heating power source 28 heats the collector pole and the intermediate electrode 20. A radioactive gaseous substance is fed into the outer case 10 from an inlet port 10a and is exhausted through an outlet port 11b. A current is applied to the radioactive material at the inside of the intermediate electrode 20, and an ionization current flows from the collector pole 12 to the ionization current measuring device 18. This prevents the contamination of the collector pole by the radioactive material and the occurrence of a measurement error.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To remove detection errors and improve detection precision by forming a thin metal film on the incidence surface of radiations of a scintillator and preventing the incidence of Cherenkov ray onto the scintillator. CONSTITUTION:Intake pipe 10, to which a fluid, such as water, containing radioactive substances, is drawn is provided with plastic scintillator 12 of the radiation detector. The incidence surface of radiations 12a, of scintillator 12 is fitted with thin metal film 14 made of aluminum or silver, and thereby the direct contact between flowing water 16, to be measured, in intake pipe 10, and scintillator 12 is prevented. Consequently, since the Cherenkov ray produced along the range of radiations when high-energy, radiations such as beta rays, are discharged in flowing water 16, is reflected or absorbed by thin metal film 14, the radiations in flowing water 16 are not affected by the Cherenkov ray and can be detected with high precision.
