Abstract: An electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface displays a control panel user interface including a first control region, which further includes a first and a second control for controlling a first and second function of the device. The device detects a first input by a first contact on the touch-sensitive surface. In response, upon determining that the first input meets control-region-expansion criteria, the device replaces display of the first control region with display of an expanded first control region that includes the first control, the second control, and one or more additional controls not included in the first control region; upon determining that the first input meets first-control-activation criteria, the device activates the first control for controlling the first function of the device; and upondetermining that the first input meets second-control-activation criteria, the device activates the second control for controlling the second function of the device.

Abstract: A device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface displays a user interface including a user interface object at a first location. While displaying the user interface, the device detects a portion of an input, including a contact at a location on the touch-sensitive surface corresponding to the user interface object. In response to detecting the portion of the input: upon determining that the portion of the input meets menu-display criteria, the device displays a plurality of selectable options that correspond to the user interface object on the display; and, upon determining that the portion of the input meets object-move criteria, the device moves the user interface object or a representation thereof from the first location to a second location according to the movement of the contact.

Abstract: An electronic device detects an input. While detecting the input, the device enters a transitional user interface mode where different user interface states can be selected based on a comparison of properties of the input to one or more thresholds. The device detects a gesture including a first change in the input. If the end of the input is detected with a first temporal proximity to the first change, the device selects a final user interface state based on input properties corresponding to the end of the input and one or more first values of the one or more thresholds. Abstract: The method for manipulating a cursor is performed at a portable multifunction device with one or more processors, memory, and a touch screen display. Initially, content of an electronic document is displayed on the display, where a cursor is displayed within the electronic document. Two substantially simultaneous touch inputs are then detected on the touch screen display, and preferably anywhere on the touch screen display. In response to detecting the two substantially simultaneous touch inputs, a portion of the content in the document closest to the cursor is selected, and the portion of the content is displayed as selected content.
