Abstract: A user equipment device (UE) may transmit, in a packet to a base station, information associated with resource configuration/resource requirement corresponding to wireless uplink communications of the wireless communication device. The base station may assign resources to the UE based on the received information. The UE may receive an uplink grant from the base station, with the uplink grant specifying resources for use by the wireless communication device during the uplink communications based on the information previously transmitted to the base station by the wireless communication device. The UE may send the packet at the time a voice call with the UE is initiated, and/or the UE may transmit the information during voice calls in response the UE changing one or more resource configuration parameters during the voice call. The UE may use Robust Header Compression packets of various types to transmit the resource configuration information.

Abstract: A wireless communication device (UE) may identify a data flow type associated with data packets to be wirelessly transmitted by the wireless communication device over a wireless network during uplink communications. The UE may determine, based on the data flow type, whether to perform header compression for the data packets on a default bearer assigned to the wireless communication device and associated with the data flow for wireless communications over the wireless network. The UE may perform packet header compression for data flow types for which the packet header size is at least a specified percentage of the total packet size. Packet header compression on the default bearer may be enabled at all times, in which case the UE may indicate to the network whether the UE supports header compression on the default bearer. Alternately, the UE may trigger header compression on the default bearer based on application requirements.

Abstract: Performing selective tune-away by a user equipment (UE). The UE may include a first radio that is configurable to operate according to a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT. The UE may use the radio to communicate using the first RAT and the second RAT using the first radio. The UE may also perform measurement of a received signal strength for the first RAT. The UE may determine if the received signal strength is less than a threshold. Neighbor cell measurement and/or synchronization may be performed if the received signal strength is less than the threshold. However, if the received signal strength is greater than the threshold, the neighbor cell measurement and/or synchronization may not be performed. The UE may continue to perform page decoding for the first RAT using the first radio, e.g., for each discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle of the first RAT.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and mechanisms for performing ROHC header compression on TCP packets with MPTCP option enabled. A compressor may determine that a first portion of the stream of data packets is formatted according to the transmission control protocol (TCP) with a multipath TCP (MPTCP) option enabled. The compressor may establish context with a corresponding decompressor and may operate in one of three modes of compression based on the context. In some embodiments, when the context indicates that the corresponding decompressor supports decompression of TCP data packets with MPTCP option enabled, the compressor may operate in a first or second mode of compression. Abstract: A system, apparatus and method to maintain continuity of a Voice over Long Term Evolution (LTE) (VoLTE) call. The system includes a first user equipment (UE) configured to perform a (VoLTE) call and a second UE configured to perform the VoLTE call with the first UE. The UE's are configured to maintain continuity of the VoLTE call by determining when one of a first dedicated bearer linked to a first default bearer of the first UE or a second dedicated bearer linked to a second default bearer of the second UE is lost and transmitting a signal to an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) server that prevents release of the determined dedicated bearer, the signal further triggering a re-activation of the determined dedicated bearer.
