Abstract: 22,962. Barthels, F. W. Nov. 17. Angle-pieces, junction pieces, and the like; bends.- Relates to forged metal tubular connections, or tees, elbows, and crosses, for steam conduits and the like. The connection is made in a single piece and without brazed joints from a seamless tubular blank having a diameter corresponding to the largest cross-dimension of the article to be formed. Such connection is produced by repeated contraction of the metal by hammering at certain parts, and then shaping the material of the parts left into the required form. One stage in the formation of a tee joint is shown in Fig. 7, and an elbow connection is shown in Figs. 10 and 11.
