A bottle closure comprising an olefin polymer composition (A) which comprises: 1) 90-100 % by weight of a crystalline propylene homopolymer or propylene/C2-C10 α-olefin random copolymer; said polymers containing at least 94 % by weight a fraction insoluble in xylene at room temperature; and 2) 0-10 % by weight of an ethylene/C3-C10 α-olefin elastomeric copolymer; provided that when the amount of Polymer (2) is 0 % by weight, Polymer (1) is selected from the above said random copolymers. Said composition (A) having a flexural elastic modulus value at 23 °C at least of 1620 MPa; a value of the strength at yield at 23 °C at least of 33 MPa; and an IZOD impact resistance value at 0 °C at least of 2.5 kJ/m2.

A copolymer of propylene with hexene-1 containing from 5 to 9% by weight of recurring units derived from hexene-1, having a melting temperature from 125° C. to 140° C. and Melt Flow Rate (ASTM D1238, 230° C./2.16 Kg) from 0.1 to 3 g/10 min., is used to produce blown films having valuable mechanical and optical properties.

A masterbatch composition comprising (percent by weight): A) 15%-50% of a polypropylene component having a melt flow rate of from 1 to 250 g/10 min.; and B) 50%-85% of an olefin polymer partially soluble in xylene at room temperature, containing from 60% to 85% by weight of ethylene; said masterbatch composition having (i) a value of the intrinsic viscosity [rl] of the fraction soluble in xylene at room temperature ([rl]SOl) equal to or lower than 2.9 dl/g, and (ii) a value of the ratio MFR / [TI],,,, equal to or lower than 4, is added to polyolefin materials to obtain final compositions suitable for injection molding.

A polyolefin composition suitable for preparing films and sheets, comprising: (A) from 15 to 40 % by weight of a crystalline copolymer of propylene with at least one alpha-olefin of formula H2C=CHR1, where R1 is H or a C2-8 linear or branched alkyl, containing at least 90 % by weight of propylene, having solubility in xylene at room temperature lower than 15% by weight; (B) from 60 to 85 % by weight of an elastomeric fraction comprising: (1) a copolymer of propylene with ethylene, optionally containing 0.5 to 5 % by weight of a diene, containing from 20 to 35% by weight ethylene, and having solubility in xylene at room temperature greater than 45% by weight, the intrinsic viscosity of the xylene soluble fraction ranging from 1.0 to 3.9 dl/g; and (2) a copolymer of ethylene with at least one alpha-olefin of formula H2C=CHR2, where R2 is a C2-8 linear or branched alkyl, optionally containing 0.5 to 5 % by weight of a diene, containing 15 % to 40 % by weight alpha-olefin, and having solubility in xylene at room temperature greater than 35% by weight, the intrinsic viscosity of the xylene soluble fraction ranging from 1.0 to 3.0 dl/g; the (1)/(2) weight ratio ranging from 1:5 to 5:1. The polyolefin composition of the invention, preferably prepared by sequential polymerization in at least three stages, has a flexural modulus lower than 130 Mpa, shore D hardness lower than 40, and MFR ≥ 1.5 g/10min.
