Abstract:
A strap comprising a propylene and 1-hexene copolymer containing from 0.3wt% to less than 5wt% of 1-hexene derived units said copolymer having a melt flow rate (MFR) determined according to ISO method 1133 (230° C, 2.16 kg ranging from 0.3 to less than 11g/10min.
Abstract:
A polymer filament comprising a polyolefin composition which comprises at least 10% by weight of one or more copolymer(s) (I) of propylene with one or more comonomers selected from ethylene, C4-C10 α-olefins and their combinations, said copolymer or copolymers (I) having MFR from 0.5 to 10 g/10 min. and containing units deriving from the said comonomers in a total amount of from 0.5 to 25% by weight with respect to the total amount of all momoner units in the copolymer, provided that, in the absence of comonomer units deriving from C6-C10 α-olefins, the amount of comonomer units deriving from ethylene or C4-C5 α-olefins or their combinations is at least 2.5% by weight.
Abstract:
A stretchable wrap film comprising a polymer blend comprising (percent by weight): I) 50 to 90% of an ethylene polymer composition comprising a recurring unit derived from an ester selected from (1) ethylenically unsaturated organic monomer of esters of unsaturated C3-C20 monocarboxylic acids and C1, to C24 monovalent aliphatic or alicyclic alcohols, and (2) vinyl esters of saturated C2-C18 carboxylic acids, wherein the ester content ranging from 2.5 to 8 wt% based on the total weight of the final ethylene polymer composition; the ethylene polymer composition having a density ranging from 0.920 to 0.94 g/mL; and II) 10 to 50% of an ethylene-based polymer component having a density ranging from 0.9 to 0. 93 0 g/mL and a melt flow rate up to 4 g/ 10 min. The stretchable wrap film has a ratio between the value of MD tear resistance and the value of TD tear resistance over 0.3 and a value of MD tensile strength at 30% ranging between 6.5 to 15 N. The stretchable film is suited for use as stretch, cling wraps in various bundling, packaging and wrapping operations.

Abstract:
The invention concerns a thermoshrinking film consisting essentially of: a) a layer A of low density polyethylene; b) a layer B made from a composition comprising: 73 to 95 % by weight of a copolymer (i) of ethylene with at least one α-olefin CH2=CHR where R is an alkyl radical having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, said copolymer having density between 0.920 and 0.960 g/cm3 and a content of α-olefin CH¿2?=CHR derived units up to 10 % by mole; 5 to 27 % by weight of a copolymer (ii) of propylene with ethylene and/or at least one α-olefin CH2=CHR?I¿, where RI is an alkyl radical having 2 to 10 carbon atoms; said copolymer containing 60 to 98 % by weight of propylene, said copolymer being characterized by a xylene insoluble fraction higher than 70 % by weight; said composition forming layer B having density between 0.915 and 0.950 g/cm3, Melt Index E between 0.1 and 2 g/10' and Melt Flow Ratio lower than 50. The film of the invention is particularly suitable for overwrapping low density polyethylene sacks, since heating to induce shrinking does not cause the adhesion of the film to the sacks.
