Abstract: Procedimiento para la obtencion de 1,3-dicetonas biciclicas de la formula general I; (ver formula) en donde R1, R2, R3 y R4 significan hidogeno, C1-C4-alquilo, C1-C4-alcoxicarbonilo, halogeno, ciano, nitro, C1-C4-alquiltio, C1-C4-alquilsulfenilo y C1-C4-alquilsulfonilo y Z significa C1-C4-alquileno, O, S, N-R5 significando R5 C1-C4-alquilo y C1-C4-alquilcarbonilo en donde a) se hace reaccionar una olefina biciclicas de la formula II con haloformo en presencia de una base, dando un producto de anillo ampliado de la formula III, (Ver formula II y III) en donde R1-R4 y Z tienen los significados arriba indicados y X es halogeno. b) se hidroliza el halogeno alilico del compuesto de la formula III, dando el alcohol alilico de la formula IV (ver formula IV) c) se oxida el alcohol alilico de la formula IV, dando una cetona no saturada de la formula V (ver formula V) d) se transforma la cetona de la formula V con un ion Y- nucleofilo, estabilizador de carga negativa, dando la cetona de la formula VI; (ver formula VI) e) se hidroliza la cetona de la formula VI, dando la 1,3-di-cetona de la formula I. nuevos productos intermedios, asi como nuevos procedimientos para la obtencion de estos productos intermedios.

Abstract: The invention relates to 2-cyanobenzene-sulfonamide compounds of the formula (I) where the variables R 1 to R 5 are as defined in claim 1 and/or to their agriculturally useful salts. Moreover, the present invention relates to the use of compounds (I) and/or their salts for combating animal pests; agricultural compositions comprising such an amount of at least one compound of the general formula (I) and/or at least one agriculturally useful salt of I and at least one inert liquid and/or solid agronomically acceptable carrier that it has a pesticidal action and, if desired, at least one surfactant; and a method of combating animal pests which comprises contacting the animal pests, their habit, breeding ground, food supply, plant, seed, soil, area, material or environment in which the animal pests are growing or may grow, or the materials, plants, seeds, soils, surfaces or spaces to be protected from animal attack or infestation with a pesticidally effective amount of at least one 2-cyanobenzenesulfonamide compound of the general formula I and/or at least one agriculturally acceptable salt thereof.
