Abstract: Hidrogel hidrófilo altamente hinchable a base de monómeros (co)polimerizados o a base de (co)polímeros de injerto, obtenido por a) (co)polimerización por medio de radicales de uno o varios monómeros hidrófilos de la fórmula en la cual R1 significa hidrógeno, metilo o etilo, R2 significa un grupo ¿COOR4. hidroxisulfonilo, fosfonilo, el grupo fosfonilo esterificado con alcanol con 1 a 4 átomos de carbono o un grupo de la fórmula general (II) R3 significa hidrógeno, metilo, etilo o el grupo carboxilo, R4 significa hidrógeno, aminoalquilo con 1 a 4 átomos de carbono o hidroxialquilo con 1 a 4 átomos de carbono, y R5 significa hidroxisulfonilo, fosfonilo o carboxilo, o (co)polimerización de injerto de uno o varios monómeros hidrófilos de la fórmula sobre una base de injerto, ascendiendo el grado medio de neutralización de los monómeros, que contienen grupos ácido, a un 0 hasta un 40 % en mol, b) trituración del hidrogel ácido, c) neutralización de hidrogel ácido hasta un grado terminal de neutralización de un 50 hasta un 85 % en mol mediante adición de un neutralizante, y d) secado, molienda y tamizado de las partículas de hidrogel, caracterizado porque el hidrogel -muestra una retención de centrífuga para una solución acuosa al 0, 9 % de NaCl de al menos 29 g/g, -una altura de hinchamiento a una absorción vertical (1 g) de al menos 3, 5 cm, y -un contenido de extraíble (valor de 16 h) menor de un 5 %, o -muestra una retención de centrífuga para una solución acuosa al 0, 9 % de NaCl de la menos 23 g/g, -una altura de hinchamiento a una absorción vertical (3 g) de al menos 5 cm, y -un contenido de extraíble (valor de 16 h) menor de un 4 %.

Abstract: The invention relates to hydrogels capable of absorbing aqueous fluids, which hydrogels are produced by polymerization of olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acids or their derivatives. The hydrogels are characterized in that before, during or after the polymerization reaction and before drying a silicic acid alkali salt of the general formula (I) M2O×nSiO2 is added to the polymerization reaction mixture. In said formula M is an alkali metal and n is a number between 0.5 and 4. The hydrogel obtained in this way is then dried at an elevated temperature. The invention also relates to a method for producing said hydrogels and to their use for absorbing aqueous fluids.

Abstract: Water-swellable hydrophilic polymers are prepared by neutralization of the acidic hydrogel having a degree of neutralization of 0-40 mol % to an ultimate degree of neutralization of 60-85 mol % by mixing with a neutralizing agent in a mincer comprising a system of screw, rotating blade, restricted flow zone and breaker plate, whereinthe mincer has a power output of from 1000 to 6000 Wh/m3the hydrogel passes through a zone having-an energy dissipation density of from 400 to 800 W/1 of mixing volumethe average residence time of the hydrogel in the mincer is from 5 to 30 secondsthe breaker plate has an open area of from 20 to 40%.
