Abstract: Column plates for a material exchange column, esp. with a peripheral supporting ring and supporting elements holding plates with through-holes, esp. perforations, valves or bubble caps comprise: (1) a liquid-tight join, pref. weld, esp. in discrete areas, between (a) the plates and the supporting elements and/or ring, (b) the supporting elements and (c) the supporting elements and the wall of the column or supporting ring; and (2) adjacent plates and supporting elements are sepd. from one another and from the column wall or supporting ring by gaps with a width of 1-15, pref. 1-7 mm. Also claimed are material exchange columns with plates of this type and a method of producing the plates.
