Abstract: Aqueous dispersions of polymers which obtained by free radical suspension polymerization or free radical miniemulsion polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers in an oil-in-water emulsion whose disperse phase comprises at least one fluorescent dye dissolved in at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer and has an average particle diameter of at least 1 μm, in the presence of at least one surface-active compound and at least 0.5% by weight, based on the monomers, of at least one hydrophobic, nonpolymerizable, organic compound, of a hydrophobic polymer of at least one C2- to C˜-olefin having a molar mass Mw of up to 10000, of a siloxane having a molar mass Mw of up to 5000 and/or polystyrene having a molar mass Mw of up to 10000, and of the powders obtainable from these polymer dispersions in each case by drying and comprising at least one fluorescent dye for marking of materials.

Abstract: La invencion se refiere a un metodo que se usa para marcar materiales con micro particulas codificadas que se pueden obtener por (i)polimerizacion de al menos un monomero con monoinsaturacion etilenica soluble en agua en presencia de al menos un monomero con instauracion etilenica que tenga al menos dos enlaces dobles en la molecula, por medio de polimerizacion inversa de suspension de aceite en agua, en donde se utilizan nanoparticulas impurificadas como agente suspensor, (ii) la emulsion para polimerizacion de monomeros con monoinsaturacion etilenica insoluble en agua proporcionados con 0-10% en peso, en relacion con la mezcla de monomero, de al menos un monomero con insaturacion etilenica proporcionado con la menos dos enlaces solubles en la molecula, en donde las nanoparticulas del compuesto se usan como un emulsificador para estabilizar la fase dispersa, (iii) la polimerizacion de al menos un monomero con instauracion etilenica junto con un colorante copolimerizable, el cual contiene un enlace doble etilenico insaturado, y opcionalmente la aglomeracion de esas particulas o (iv) la aglomerizacion de al menos dos grupos diferentes de micro particulas, las cuales son diferentes debido a su absorcion, emision y/o difusion de radiacion electromagnetica, a las unidades que tengan un diametro de particula promedio de 300 nm a 500 nm. La invencion tambien se refiere al uso de micro particulas codificadas para materiales de marcacion y materiales marcados con las micro particulas.

Abstract: Coded micro-particles for marking materials are obtained by polymerisation of unsaturated monomers in presence of dyes and/or doped nano-particles, and/or by agglomeration of at least two groups of microparticles which differ in their absorption, emission and/or scattering of electromagnetic radiation, to give aggregates with a particle diameter of 300 nm to 500 microns. A method for marking materials with coded micro-particles (I), in which (I) are obtained by (i) reversed water-in-oil suspension polymerisation of water-soluble mono-unsaturated monomer(s) (IIa) in presence of poly-unsaturated comonomer(s) (III) using doped nano-particles (IV) as the suspension medium, (ii) emulsion polymerisation of water-insoluble mono-unsaturated monomers (IIb) with 0-10 wt% (III) using (IV) as emulsifier for stabilising the disperse phase, (iii) polymerisation of (II) with a copolymerisable dye containing an ethylenic double bond, optionally followed by agglomeration of the resulting particles, or (iv) agglomeration of at least two groups of micro-particles which differ in their absorption, emission and/or scattering of electromagnetic radiation, to give aggregates with an average particle diameter of 300 nm to 500 microns. An independent claim is also included for materials containing coded (I) for the purposes of marking.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing polyfluoroanthenes containing repeat units of general formula (I), said method consisting of the following steps: a) a monomer fluoroanthene derivative of formula IIa is produced; b) optionally the monomer fluoroanthene derivative of formula IIa is converted into another monomer fluoroanthene derivative of formula IIb; and c) the monomer fluoroanthene derivative of formula IIa or IIb is polymerised, optionally together with at least one other comonomer. The invention also relates to polyfluoroanthenes that can be produced according to the inventive method, films, a light-emitting layer containing or consisting of at least one inventive polyfluoroanthene, OLEDs containing at least one inventive polyfluoroanthene, OLEDs containing an inventive light-emitting layer, a device containing an inventive OLED, and the use of the inventive polyfluoroanthene emitter substances in OLEDs.

Abstract: Continuous determination of particle size distribution in polymer dispersions involves simultaneous optical counting and crossflow fractionation of sample streams diluted with water and surfactant solution, using surfactant solution as carrier in the fractionator and flushing the analyzer section with surfactant solution after every 100 samples at the latest. A method for the continuous determination of particle size distribution (PSD) in polymer dispersions by simultaneous characterization by means of optical counting of single particles and flow-fieldflow fractionation (crossflow fractionation) or hydrodynamic fractionation involves (i) continuously taking a sample stream from a product line, (ii) diluting the sample stream with high-purity water and aqueous surfactant solution to a solid content of 0.3-20 g/l and a surfactant content of 0.1-5 g/l, (iii) taking off a part stream (continuously or discontinuously) and determining the PSD in at least one partial size range between 0.5 and 1000 microns with the aid of single particle analyzer(s) and (iv) taking repeated discontinuous samples from the diluted stream and determining the PSD in at least one size range which includes the range 0.005-2 microns, with the aid of a cross-flow fractionator with UV detector. The carrier liquid used in the fractionator is a surfactant solution with a concentration of 0.1-5 g/l and the analyzer section of the fractionator is washed with a flushing solution containing 2-30 g/l surfactant, at the latest after every 100 repeats of step (iv).
