Abstract:
Corrosion protection formulation comprising (A) from 0.01 to 5% by weight of alkylamine ethoxylates as surfactant component, (B) from 0.01 to 10% by weight of corrosion inhibitors, (C) from 0 to 0.3% by weight of thickeners, (D) from 5 to
Abstract:
Coolants with increased activity against corrosion of aluminium and aluminium alloys and with improved storage stability, and corresponding coolant concentrates, are useful.
Abstract:
A process for preparing an anticorrosion component for an antifreeze by oxidizing an oxydiol of the formula (I) with molecular oxygen at a temperature of 20 to 100° C. and a partial oxygen pressure of 0.01 to 2 MPa in the presence of water and of a heterogeneous catalyst. The catalyst contains platinum to form an oxydicarboxylic acid of the formula (II) The process has the steps of conducting the oxidation (a) at a molar ratio of 0.002≤n(Pt)/[n(oxydiol (I))+n(oxydicarboxylic acid (II))]≤0.019; (b) at a concentration of water of 50% to 95% by weight in the liquid phase; and (c) at a pH of 1 to 7.
Abstract:
A functional fluid composition useful as a brake fluid comprising from 0 to 94.99% by weight of alkoxy glycols of borate esters, from 5 to 99.99% by weight of alkoxy glycols, from 0.01 to 5% by weight of alkoxylates of saturated or unsaturated hydroxy-substituted fatty acids such as ricinoleic acid or esters thereof, the hydroxyl group located on the fatty acid side chain being etherified by at least one oxyalkylene unit, and from 0 to 10% by weight of an additive package comprising additives with corrosion inhibition action.
Abstract:
The present invention refers to a vapor space anticorrosive composition comprising corrosion inhibitors, surfactants and possibly thickeners, wherein one surfactant is selected from alkylamine ethoxylates, and being useful as an engine run-in composition and as a coolant.
