    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing isocyanates by reacting the corresponding amines with phosgene in the liquid phase, if appropriate in the presence of at least one inert medium, in which the amine and the phosgene are first mixed in a mixing chamber (1) to give a reaction mixture and the reaction mixture is fed to a reactor, the amine being added through an orifice (3) arranged coaxially to the mixing chamber (1) and the phosgene being added through feed orifices (5) in at least two planes (7, 9) arranged at right angles to the axis (11) of the mixing chamber (1), or the phosgene being added through the orifice (3) arranged coaxially to the mixing chamber and the amine through the feed orifices (5) in at least two planes (7, 9) arranged at right angles to the axis (11) of the mixing chamber (1). At least one plane (9) is arranged upstream and at least one plane (7) downstream of the orifice (3) arranged coaxially to the mixing chamber (1) in main flow direction of the reaction mixture. The mean residence time of the reaction mixture in the mixing chamber (1) is not more than 20 ms.

    Abstract: Procedimiento para la obtención de isocianatos mediante reacción de aminas con fosgeno en presencia de disolventes orgánicos inertes en un reactor, y subsiguiente elaboración de la mezcla de reacción que abandona el reactor, caracterizado porque la separación de disolventes se efectúa en un procedimiento de destilación de dos o más etapas, y separándose el disolvente en una primera instalación a una presión de 0, 1 a 15 bar, y en una segunda instalación, o instalación adicional, a 1 hasta 900 mbar, siendo el nivel de presión en la segunda instalación más reducido que en la primera instalación; situándose la temperatura de cola de la primera columna, según presión, entre 60ºC a 0, 1 bar y 270ºC a 15 bar, y la de la segunda columna, según presión, entre 75ºC a 1 mbar y 250ºC a 900 mbar, y empleándose el calor de condensación del vapor de disolvente de la primera instalación para la evaporación parcial o completa de disolvente en la segunda instalación.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing isocyanates by reaction of amines with phosgene in a reactor and subsequent separation of the isocyanate from the reaction mixture leaving the reactor and purification of the isocyanate, wherein the separation and purification of the isocyanate is carried out in a column having a pressure at the top of 1-950 mbar, preferably 5-50 mbar, particularly preferably 10-20 mbar, and a temperature at the bottom of 90-250° C., preferably 120-170° C., particularly preferably 130-150° C., and the pure isocyanate stream is preferably taken off in liquid or gaseous form at a side offtake of the column.
