Abstract: The invention relates the use of a single-component laminating adhesive for composite film lamination and a method for composite film lamination. The laminating adhesive contains an aqueous polymer dispersion, that can be produced by radical emulsion polymerisation of monomers comprising (a) at least 60 wt.%, with respect to the total quantity of monomers, of at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of C1 to C20 alkyl acrylates, C1 to C20 alkyl methacrylates, vinyl esters of carboxylic acids containing up to 20 C atoms, vinyl aromatics having up to 20 C atoms, vinyl halides, vinyl ethers of alcohols containing up to 10 C atoms, aliphatic hydrocarbons with 2 to 8 C atoms and one or two double bonds, and mixtures of said monomers, and (b) at least 0.1 wt.%, with respect to the total quantity of monomers, of at least one monomer having at least one acid group, and (c) 0.1 to 5 wt.%, with respect to the total quantity of monomers, of at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound having at least one functional group, selected from keto groups and aldehyde groups; wherein the aqueous polymer dispersion contains at least one compound A which has at least two functional groups which can undergo a cross-linking reaction with keto groups or with aldehyde groups; wherein the molar ratio of the groups of compound A that are reactive with keto groups or with aldehyde groups, to the keto and aldehyde groups of monomer (b), has a value of 1:10 to 2:1; and wherein for the composite film lamination, at least two films are securely adhered to one another using the laminating adhesive, in such a way that the peeling resistance is 2.5 N/15 mm or greater, or such that the films that are adhered together can only be separated by destroying at least one of the films. The composite films can be used for the packing of foodstuffs.

Abstract: The invention relates to a protective adhesive film made of a polymer film which is coated with a crosslinked adhesive composition. The adhesive composition contains an adhesive polymer which is made by means of an emulsion polymerization in the presence of starches made of soft monomers, which when polymerized as homopolymers have a glass-transition temperature of less than 0 °C, ethylenically unsaturated acids or acid anhydrides, and optionally additional monomers that differ from (i) and (ii). The adhesive composition contains specific crosslinking agents, wherein the crosslinking reaction caused by the crosslinking agents ends before the protective adhesive film is adhered onto a substrate.
