PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for inkjet recording, capable of stably recording an image having high fastness and excellent appearance quality for a long period even in any case. SOLUTION: The ink for the inkjet recording, at least containing a pigment dispersing element dispersed by a polymer dispersant, an assistant component and water is characterized by the assistant component composed of a block copolymer having at least one kind of a hydrophobic block and at least one kind of a hydrophilic block, and each block is constituted by polymerizing vinyl ethers. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain pigment dispersion capable of providing an image having good preservation stability, a high color-developing property and high fastness. SOLUTION: This method for producing the pigment dispersion consisting mainly of a pigment used for inkjet-recording ink, a polymeric dispersing agent having a hydrophobic group and an anionic hydrophilic group, and water is provided by producing the pigment dispersion by a method comprising at least (1) a process of preparing polymer dispersion dispersed with the pigment by dissolving the polymeric dispersing agent with a water-soluble organic solvent, (2) a process of mixing with water, (3) a process of neutralizing the dispersion and (4) a process of removing the organic solvent.
