Abstract: A liquid discharging head comprises a discharging port for discharging liquid, a liquid flow path communicated with said discharging port, a bubble generating region for causing the liquid to generate a bubble and a movable member having provided thereon a free end disposed facing to said bubble generating region, and on the downstream of said liquid flow path directed toward said discharging port. At least when said movable member is in stationary state, a side of said liquid flow path corresponding to said bubble generating region is substantially composed of all with a wall face and common communicating space for commonly communicating said liquid flow path with a neighboring liquid flow path is provided in the upward of a movable section of said movable member.

Abstract: A recording head comprises a plurality of recording elements for performing recording; a driving circuit for driving the plurality of recording elements; and a predetermined voltage generating circuit for generating a predetermined voltage to be applied to the plurality of recording elements from voltage supplied from outside. With the head thus structured, a desired voltage is generated in the interior of the head by use of the predetermined voltage generating circuit for performing recording, thus making it possible to prevent the voltage drop which may take place if the voltage is supplied from outside through a cable, as well as to prevent the durability of the heat generating elements from being damaged due to noises. It also becomes possible to set the voltage to be applied to the recording elements at an optimal value corresponding to the discharge voltage, hence stabilizing ink discharges efficiently.

Abstract: A printhead compatible with various printers, e.g. a printer having low print density or a printer having high print density, enables printing in the best capability of the printer. The printhead comprises: a determination circuit 24 which determines a type of a printer incorporating the printhead, and switches SW1 and SW2 which select a method of driving the printhead according to in the printer, on the basis of the determination result by the determination circuit 24. When the printhead is installed in the printer capable of printing at 360 dpi, four print dots printed at 720 dpi substantially express one dot printed at 360 dpi. Meanwhile, when the printhead is installed in the printer capable of printing at 720 dpi, one print dot expresses one dot printed at 720 dpi.

Abstract: A magneto-optical recording medium includes a substrate, a first magnetic layer (13) formed on the substrate and constituted by a perpendicular magnetization film, a dielectric layer (14) formed on the first magnetic layer at a side opposite to the substrate, a second magnetic layer (15) formed on the first magnetic layer through the dielectric layer, and a third magnetic layer (16) magnetically coupled to the second magnetic layer. Each of the first, second and third magnetic layers essentially consists of a rare earth-transition metal amorphous alloy. The first magnetic layer has a film thickness to allow transmission of light incident from the substrate to the dielectric layer while the second magnetic layer has a film thickness which does not allow transmission, of light passing through the first magnetic layer, to the third magnetic layer.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a liquid discharge head comprising a top plate including a plurality of ink discharge ports for discharging ink droplet, a plurality of first liquid passages for supplying ink in correspondence to the plurality of ink discharge ports and a common liquid chamber for supplying the ink to the first liquid passages, a liquid discharge head substrate obtained by forming second liquid passages arranged adjacent to the first liquid passages and including bubble generating areas on a substrate on which a plurality of heat generating elements for causing the ink discharge port to discharge the ink droplets and including drivers for driving the heat generating elements, and a movable diaphragm for completely isolating the first liquid passages and the second liquid passages from each other and displaceable by a bubble generated on the heat generating element, wherein the method comprises a movable diaphragm forming step for providing the movable diaphragm in such a manner that a portion for fixing the movable diaphragm is covered. The present invention further provides such a liquid discharge head and a liquid discharging apparatus having such a liquid discharge head.
