Abstract: A liquid discharge method is designed for a liquid jet head provided with first discharge openings, a first liquid flow path conductively connected with each of the first discharge openings, first energy generating devices for generating energy for the discharge of droplets from the first discharge openings, second discharge openings, a second liquid flow path conductively connected with each of the second discharge openings, and second energy generating devices for generating energy for the discharge of droplets from the second discharge openings. Then, preceding the discharge of the first droplet from the discharge opening at a first discharge speed V1, the second droplet is discharged from the second discharge opening at a second discharge speed v2 smaller than the first discharge speed, and before each of the liquid droplets being impacted on an object, the first liquid droplet and the second liquid droplet are allowed to collide with each other to be combined. In this way, it becomes possible to allow two droplets to be in contact or to collide with each other reliably to be mixed between the liquid jet head and the object within a range that does not render any hinderance practically even if discharge speeds may fluctuate, hence obtaining precise images in higher quality.

The specification also discloses a liquid discharging head having a discharge port for discharging liquid therethrough, a first bubble creating area for creating a first bubble in the liquid, and a first liquid flow path provided with the first bubble creating area and communicating with the discharge port, the liquid in the first liquid flow path being discharged through the discharge port by the creation of the first bubble, characterized by a second bubble creating area for creating a second bubble in the liquid, a second liquid flow path provided with the second bubble creating area, and negative pressure acting means using a variable member provided between the first liquid flow path and the second liquid flow path for causing only negative pressure to act in the first liquid flow path by the disappearance of the second bubble. The specification also discloses a head cartridge and a liquid discharging apparatus usingsuch liquid discharging head.

The head has a check valve disposed in a liquid supply passage leading to the liquid flow channels.
