Abstract: The invention relates to a massage device in which a cylinder/piston unit 10 is arranged in a vertical guide column 1, toothed racks 4 being located at the sides of the guide column 1. Pinions carrying brushes 7 engage in these toothed racks 4, with bearing taking place in housing halves 8 which slide upwards and downwards on the guide column 1. The housing halves 8 are connected with the piston rod 9 of the cylinder/piston unit 10 via connection linkages 12 and a transverse crosshead 11. Automatic control in the particular final positions of the brush unit can be achieved with the aid of a control valve 15.
