    Abstract: An aqueous dispersion comprises hydrophobized silicon dioxide particles and in each case dispersing additives, basic composition, and is free of color pigments, inactive fillers, and binders. The hydrophobized silicon dioxide particles (0.1-50 wt.%) have methanol wettability of 30-60. Water is 30-90 wt.%, and the dispersing additive is phosphate ester (3-25 wt.%) of an ethoxylated alcohol having 8-18C. The basic composition comprises amines (5-30 wt.%). The dispersion further comprises 2-15C polyols (1-10 wt.%). Aqueous dispersion comprises hydrophobized silicon dioxide particles and in each case dispersing additives, basic composition, and is free of color pigments, inactive fillers, and binders. The hydrophobized silicon dioxide particles (0.1-50 wt.%) have methanol wettability of 30-60. Water is 30-90 wt.%, and the dispersing additive is phosphate ester (3-25 wt.%) of an ethoxylated alcohol having 8-18C. The basic composition comprises amines (5-30 wt.%) of formula RNH 2, R 2NH, and R 3N. The dispersion further comprises 2-15C polyols (1-10 wt.%). The phosphate ester, basic composition, and polyol are soluble in the aqueous phase of the dispersion and a pH of the dispersion is 9-11. R : 2-10C alkyl or 2+10C hydroxyl-substituted alkyl.
