Abstract:
In a valve, in particular an expansion valve for refrigerating systems, at least the housing (2) and all connecting pieces (3, 4, 5) are deep-drawn parts made of stainless steel with less than 0.006 % C, preferably less than 0.05 % C. These pieces are joined by welding. The steel is so low in carbon that despite the heat treatment in welding it is practically insensitive to intercrystalline corrosion. This yields a valve that is environmentally acceptable and visually attractive.
Abstract:
A thermal expansion valve (1) for a refrigeration system comprises a working element (9) with a diaphragm (15) clamped between a cover plate (12) and a cover ring (10). The diaphragm is a multiple-diaphragm comprising two or more individual diaphragms (16, 17). This makes the multiple-diaphragm more flexible than a single diaphragms and increases the lifetime of the diaphragm. The individual diaphragms are separated by an anti-friction layer to protect against tear, the anti-friction layer can be grease or oil placed between the individual diaphragms or it can be a layer of coating on the diaphragms.

Abstract:
A valve (1), which has heat-sensitive parts, has at least one connecting tube (3, 4, 5) to which a pipe is arranged to be soldered using local heating. The connecting tube (3, 4, 5) consists of a material of such low thermal conductivity that the heat-sensitive parts remain below the limit temperature as the heat required for soldering is applied. No cooling measures are therefore needed while the pipe is being joined by soldering.
