    Abstract: A blank cylinder mechanism for a glassware forming machine includes a bracket (14) attached at one end to a cam track plate (10) and at the other end to a neck ring support arm (16) of the forming machine. Check valves (30) are provided which communicate to permit flow into the interior of the blow cylinder (2) but preventing flow in an opposite direction to provide cushioning. Removable shims (48) are positioned between a stop plate (44) and support member (12) to adjust the downward position of the blank cylinder (2). The cam track plate (10) includes a J-shaped cam slot (52) having an upper portion (A-B) which is substantially vertical and a lower portion (B-C) connected to said upper portion which imparts rotation to the cylinder as the cylinder moves downward at a constant acceleration.
