Abstract:
In a method of improved media frame transmission in a communication network. Initially a plurality of "original" or regular media frames are provided for transmission. According to the invention, robust representations of the provided regular media frames are generated and stored locally. Subsequently, one or more of the regular media frames is/ are transmitted. The invention detects an indication of a loss of a transmitted media frame, and the idea is to transmit, in response to a detected frame loss, a stored robust representation of the lost media frame and/ or a stored robust representation of a subsequent, not yet transmitted, media frame to increase the media quality.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and arrangement for communicating a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) between a transmitter unit and a receiver unit in a wireless communication network. Said PDU comprising protocol headers associated with at least a first and a second protocol layers involved in the communication and a payload to be communicated. The method comprises the step of interacting between the at least first and second protocol layers, such that the sum of the bits of the protocol headers is n-bit aligned such as octet aligned independently of non-alignment of at least one of the protocol headers comprised in the PDU.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method, a user equipment and a network node in a cellular radio network. According to the method of the present invention, the network units detects a failed transmission of a handover command to the UE, which is still having a uplink channel available, and further receives a RRC message from the UE indicating the loss of a serving cell and indicating the strongest cell. The network unit prepares and initiates a new serving cell re-establishment and sends to the UE a RRC reconfiguration message. The UE can then continue normal operation in the new cell.
Abstract:
Methods and devices are disclosed for forwarding data packets during handover in a packet-switched wireless communications system, such as a 3GPP Long-Term Evolution/System Architecture Evolution system. In an exemplary method, a source base station node determines that handover of at least one radio bearer for a served user terminal to a target base station node is imminent. The source base station node classifies a plurality of data packets into two or more data flow classifications according to a transmission status for each data packet, a service requirement for each data packet, or both and selectively forwards one or more of the data packets to the target base station node based on the data flow classification for each data packet. For example, data packets associated with a reliable delivery service requirement may be forwarded while data packets associated with a maximum delay service requirement are not.
Abstract:
In a method and a device for selecting transport format in a User Equipment transmitting data in a cellular radio system using an Enhanced Uplink (EUL) with Discontinuous Reception (DRX) the determination of whether or not to transmit data in the next Transmission Time Interval (TTI) is based on the amount of data in the User Equipment transmission buffer.
