Abstract: Vehicles and related systems and methods are provided for classifying detected objects in a location-dependent manner using localized models in a federated learning environment. A method involves obtaining sensor data for a detected object external to the vehicle from a sensor of a vehicle, obtaining location data associated with the detected object, obtaining a local classification model associated with an object type, assigning the object type to the detected object based on an output by the local classification model as a function of the sensor data and the location data using the local classification model, and initiating an action at the vehicle responsive to assigning the object type to the detected object.

Abstract: A vehicle guidance system facilitates maneuvering of an autonomous vehicle with respect to an object in a scene. The vehicle includes a steering apparatus having a range of angular positions and a multitude of actuators for controlling the dynamics of the vehicle. The system includes a steering angle sensor, a camera device, and a video processing module. The sensor is configured to monitor the angular position of the wheel. The device is configured to capture an original image of a scene having the object. The module is configured to receive and process the original image from the device, detect the object in the original image, receive and process the angular position from the sensor, generate a dynamic trajectory based on at least the angular position, orientate the dynamic trajectory with regard to the object, and operate at least one of the actuators to guide the vehicle along the dynamic trajectory.

Abstract: A multimedia system is provided for a scalable infotainment system of a motor vehicle. The scalable infotainment system includes a camera, which is releasably attached to the motor vehicle and supports camera software components for generating a media signal. The multimedia system includes a media player and a computer attached to the motor vehicle. The computer has a processor and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium, which stores player software components including multiple streaming protocols used by the media player to play a media stream. The processor is programmed to transmit to the camera a player setup signal including data associated with the player software components. The processor is further programmed to receive from the camera a media signal associated with a media stream generated by the camera by using a common one of the streaming protocols supported by the camera and the media player.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for interacting with a user of a vehicle. In one embodiment, a method includes: receiving first sensor data indicating a scene of an environment within a vicinity of the vehicle; processing, by a processor, the first sensor data to determine a first gesture of an individual in the scene; recommending, by the processor, a second gesture to the individual; receiving, by the processor, second sensor data indicating a scene of an environment of the vehicle; processing, by the processor, the second sensor data to determine a third gesture of the individual in the scene; comparing, by the processor, the second gesture and the third gesture; selectively identifying, by the processor, the individual as a user or not a user of the vehicle based on the comparing; and controlling, by the processor, the vehicle towards or away from the user based on the identifying.

Abstract: Systems and method are provided for a towing vehicle towing a trailer having at least one imaging device. A method includes: receiving, from a first imaging device coupled to the trailer, a first image stream having a plurality of first images; receiving, from a second imaging device coupled to the vehicle, a second image stream having a plurality of second images; determining, at least one common feature between a first image of the first images and a second image of the second images; determining a first distance from the first imaging device to the at least one common feature and a second distance from the second imaging device to the at least one common feature; and determining, a position of the first imaging device relative to the vehicle based on the first distance, the second distance and a known position and pose of the second imaging device.
