    Abstract: A latch mechanism having a mounting bracket, a body portion, and a flange portion. The latch mechanism is used for connecting a first and second members. The body portion has walls extending from a flange portion defining a chamber therein. A detent mechanism is positioned in the chamber. A bolt, movably carried on the latch mechanism, has connected front and rear bolt portions and may include a spring biased ball for engaging a recess on the rear bolt in the latched position. A receptacle is defined in the mounting bracket. A head portion of the rear bolt is positioned relative to the receptacle in the latched position. A portion of the rear bolt travels through the receptacle when unlatching and engages the detent mechanism in the latched position. A gasket provided between the head and the receptacle seals the head in the receptacle in the latched position.

    Abstract: A blowout latch is provided to latch a first panel to a second panel. The latch is coupled to the first panel and engaged with the second panel. The latch includes a biasing mechanism which is disengagable under pressure to move the first panel relative to the second panel. The latch may also be selectively disengaged with a lesser force than that required to overcome the biasing mechanism by bypassing the biasing mechanism. When manually disengaged, the latch maintains a biasing load on a bolt of the latch. A trigger of the latch is provided to bypass the biasing mechanism and disengage a roller assembly of the latch from the second panel.

    Abstract: An extended latch mounted to a structure for securing an adjacent structure. The extended latch is a remotely-actuated latch mechanism that allows the adjacent structure to be released and moved apart from the structure, and later rejoined with the structure without disengagement of the latch mechanism from either structure. The extended latch includes a housing (48) that has a first wall (58) and a second wall (60) that are aligned with and positioned parallel to each other. An extendable linkage (50) is rotatably mounted to the housing (48). The extendable latch also includes a strut (54) having a central axis and opposing ends. One end of the strut (54) is rotatably mounted to the extendable linkage (50). The other end of the strut (54) is rotatably mounted to a keeper bar. The extendable latch also includes a detent mechanism (52) rotatably mounted to both the housing (48) and the extendable linkage (50). The detent mechanism (52) has a blocking position in which the detent mechanism (52) is adjacent to the strut (54), and an unblocking position in which the detent mechanism (52) is away from the strut (54).

    Abstract: A sliding hinge (17) for mounting a nose cone or cover (14) on a nacelle or housing (11), such as an equipment package suspended from the wing (10) of an aircraft. Typically two hinges (17) are used, positioned at opposite sides of the housing (11), for pivoting the nose cone (14) upward to provide access to the equipment within the housing. Each hinge (17) includes a sleeve (21) mounted in the housing (11), a slide block (26) sliding in the sleeve (21), and a slide arm (23) pivotally attached to the slide block (26) and mounted in the nose (14). To open the package, the nose (14) is initially slid forward from the housing (11) and then pivoted to an upward position. During this operation the slide arm (23) slides out of the sleeve (21) from a retracted position to an extended position and then pivots upward to the open position, with the slide block (26) remaining in the sleeve (21). A locking mechanism is provided for locking the slide block (26) in the sleeve (21) in the extended position so that the nose cover (14) has to be pivoted downward to the horizontal position in alignment with the housing (11) before the arm (23) and nose (14) can be moved toward the housing (11) to the retracted position.
