Abstract: 1376399 Reactive water-soluble mono-azo dyestuffs FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 29 Aug 1972 [26 Aug 1971] 39989/72 Heading C4P Novel dyestuffs of the formula wherein A is a phenyl, naphthyl, pyrazolyl or acetoacetylarylamide radical substituted by at least one water-solubilizing group and optionally by further substituents and X is a vinyl group or a group of the formula -CH 2 CH 2 Z in which Z is OH or an inorganic or organic radical that can be split off by an alkaline agent, or salts thereof, are prepared by diazotizing an appropriate 2-amino-8-(SO 2 X)-naphthalene and coupling with a compound AH in an aqueous medium. In the products X groups can be interconverted, e.g. -CH 2 CH 2 OH may be esterified to -CH 2 CH 2 OSO 3 H and this may be converted to -CH 2 CH 2 N(C 2 H 5 ) 2 , or to -CH=CH 2 which may in turn be converted to The novel dyestuffs may be used for the dyeing and printing of wool, silk, leather, synthetic polyamide fibres and native or regenerated cellulose fibres.

Abstract: Fibrous materials of any kind is finished with an organic compound having fiber-finishing properties and containing one or several groups of the formula in which X is sulfonyl or carbonyl and A represents hydrogen or one equivalent of a mono-, bi- or trivalent metal or an ammonium group, is applied onto the fibrous material in the form of an aqueous or organo-aqueous solution or dispersion, and the fibrous material thus treated is then subjected, if necessary, to a heat treatment for the fixation of this organic compound onto the fibrous material. Organic fiber-finishing compounds containing the above-mentioned group may be for example dyestuffs, optical brighteners or compounds increasing the crease resistance.

Abstract: A process for the fixation of organic dyestuffs on materials having a fibrous structure had been found, in which an organic dyestuff containing one or several groups of the formula (I) (I) wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 each represent a non-ionic, anionic or cationic substituent, with the exception of a primary or secondary amino group or the salts thereof, is applied in dissolved form onto said materials and subsequently subjected to the action of nitrous acid. The process yields fiber materials on which active substances, such as dyestuffs, brighteners, mothproofing agents, water-repellent agents, etc., are fixed fast; the novel process is especially and advantageously suitable in combination with the ice-color technique.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of water-soluble phthalocyanine dyestuffs containing a fiber-reactive group of the vinylsulfone series, by reacting phthalocyanine sulfochlorides, optionally containing sulfo groups, with a primary or secondary amine which contains a fiber-reactive group of the vinylsulfone series, and optionally with a further primary or secondary amine in common manner, wherein according to the invention a pyridine-sulfonic acid or a pyridine-carboxylic acid is used as catalyst instead of the pyridine, as used previously. The use of pyridine-sulfonic acids or pyridine-carboxylic acids-which results in the same good reaction rate and yield as the use of pyridine in the preparation of phthalocyanine dyestuffs-avoids the considerable drawbacks occurring in the preparation on an industrial scale, which drawbacks are caused by the toxic properties and the unpleasant smell of the pyridine.
