Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change a data structure such that the data structure of a content reflects relation between subcontents perceivable by visual recognition. SOLUTION: This computer program is a computer program for editing a structured electronic document expressed by a tree structure wherein an object of a processing target of a computer forms each node. The program operates the computer as: a means selecting a given node among the respective nodes; a means selecting at least one other node positioned in the rear of the given node inside the tree structure; a means deciding whether semantics of the selected other node can be associated with semantics of the given node or not; and a means changing the tree structure such that the other node becomes a child node of the given node when it is decided that the association is possible. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation program or the like capable of grasping problems more appropriate to the reality regarding evaluation of a target content. SOLUTION: The program for evaluating a target content allows a computer to realize a function for primarily evaluating the target content based on one evaluation criterion, a function for primarily evaluating the target content based on the other evaluation criterion, and a function for secondarily evaluating the target content based on the plurality of primary evaluations. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To voice-output text data by sufficiently realizing both the quick reading of the text data and the support of the content capture of the text data of a listener. SOLUTION: A computer 16 outputs a voice signal for reading text data at a normal speed (for example, a speed at which an announcer reads news in radio broadcasting) when a user depresses a normal mode key 180 of a keyboard 18 (a normal mode). Also, the computer 16 converts only a range (audible range) valid for the content understanding of the user in the text data into a voice signal at an audible fast-forwarding speed (which is about 1.5-3 times as fast as a normal speed), and outputs it after the user presses a fast- forwarding mode key 182, and a transition time P passes. Also, the computer 16 converts the other area (a skip area) into a voice signal at a speed (a skip speed which is more than three times as fast as the normal speed) in a level that at least the length and note of the text data can be captured, and outputs it regardless of whether or not the user can listen to it at a high speed (a skip mode).
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate difficulty understanding contents of a document by output voice of a screen reader with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The system for evaluating the difficulty understanding the contents of the document by the output voice of the screen reader in each page of the document includes: a first function recording part recording an evaluation function for calculating an evaluation value of the difficulty of the page on the basis of a characteristic amount showing a characteristic of the page; a collection part collecting the characteristic amount of the page and an evaluation value of difficulty by a user about each of one or more pages wherein the evaluation values calculated by the evaluation function and evaluation of the difficulty by the user differ; and a first update part updating the evaluation function recorded in the first function recording part such that the evaluation function outputs the evaluation value closer to the evaluation of the user, based on the evaluation value and the characteristic amount collected from the user. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user interface for operating a plurality of application programs in common. SOLUTION: The information processor for providing a common input/output interface to a plurality of application programs includes: a document conversion section for converting a specific document created by each of the plurality of application programs and represented by a data structure specific to the each application program into a common document represented by a common data structure; an output section for outputting the common document to a user; an input section for inputting the user operation for the common document; and an interface adapter section for converting the object included in the common document into the object in the output section; and a modifying section for modifying the common document according to the content of the user operation; and a modification reflecting section for reflecting the modification to the common document in the specific document. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform processing such as partial cutout of a structured/layered content without using XPath. SOLUTION: A target subtree setting means 25 sets a target subtree related to a content part 21. An emergence mode detection means 27 detects the emergence mode of each node of the target subtree by comparing the target subtree related to a content 20 with a tree related to each past structured/layered content. A statistic information generation means 28 generates statistic information related to the emergence frequency of emergency mode for each node of the target subtree. A classification means 29 classifies each node of the target subtree based on the emergence mode detection result and the statistic information. A matching pattern generation means 30 generates a matching pattern related to a target content part based on the classification. The structured/layered content is identified by use of the matching pattern. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively obtain information and provide an effective means for presenting the obtained information without a definite indication of an intention for obtaining the information, such as pushing down of a retrieval button. SOLUTION: A kana (Japanese syllabary)/kanji (Chinese character) converting routine is started (step 50), and a character string is inputted (step 51). Next, a conversion key for converting the inputted character string to kanji is pushed down (step 52). In this timing for pushing down the conversion key, a homonym candidate selection routine is started (step 53), and a conversion candidate is presented. In the timing for pushing down the conversion key or conversion operation of the conversion candidate in the homonym candidate selection routine, namely candidate pre-selection operation (step 54), an information access routine is started (step 55). Next, information access is executed (step 56), and the retrieval result (the information obtained by access) is obtained (step 57). Then, the retrieval result is presented (step 58).
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique of simplification of a web page to promptly access necessary information in the case of display or output of the web page using a small screen device and a voice browser. SOLUTION: In calculation of a differential processing 4 to be used for page simplification, not only the previous page of the same URL but an adjacent page 7 are used as comparison pages to be compared with a target page 6 of a simplifying object. Only a piece of information updated by comparison is taken out and template information commonly used in the respective pages of a site is eliminated. Thus, a simplified page 8 formed by taking out only main contents of the simplifying object page is obtained.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for mapping a moving direction by using sounds for people with visual impairments, in which a moving direction can be expressed multi-dimensionally by using sound information and can effectively assist people with visual impairments and the like in navigation tasks. A moving direction of a person carrying a device configured to output sounds is mapped by using a combination of sounds outputted from the device. A plurality of different sound information pieces are stored in association with three or more predetermined directions, respectively, a current position of the moving target device is identified, and then a moving direction of the device is identified. A sound obtained by combining two sounds in a ratio according to the identified moving direction is outputted on the basis of sound information pieces associated respectively with two adjacent directions sandwiching the identified moving direction among the predetermined directions.
Abstract:
Provided are a method, device and computer program for mapping direction of movement for a visually impaired person by means of sound, with which it is possible to represent direction of movement multi-dimensionally, in particular two-dimensionally, by means of sound information, and it is possible to effectively assist the movement of a visually impaired person.
