Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and system of generating an indoor radio map and a method and system of locating an indoor target according to the method and system of generating an indoor radio map. The method and system includes providing an indoor environment with wireless sensor nodes and at least one mobile node. In order to reduce the influence of multipath effect on and improve the accuracy of indoor localisation, the present invention has proposed a technique of measuring the wireless signal strengths between the sensor nodes and the mobile node and performing a smoothing process on the wireless signal strength .measured at at least one position by the mobile node. The smoothing may be based on averaging wireless signal strengths measured at adjacent positions. The sensor nodes and mobile node may include a plurality of antennas with average signals strengths calculated between different antennas.
