Abstract: The connector consists of a body (4) of a relatively soft plastic material and a core (15) of a relatively hard and rigid plastic, able to join telescopically. The core has an outer tubular wall (17), open at one end and closed at the other, and contains a number of electrical contacts (16) arranged to engage with matching sleeves (31) inside the body. The body and core engage through a series of annular ribs and recesses, and are held together by an outer mounting nut (2). The relatively soft material from which the body is made is polyurethane, while the relatively hard core is made from fibreglass impregnated with polyurethane. The body is enclosed in an elongated tubular shell (11), pref. of high density moulded plastic.
