    Abstract: The application relates to an infrared radiation source for a gas analyzer and a method for generating infrared radiation. The infrared radiation source comprises a body (6), thermal insulation material (5) adapted inside the body (6), a radiant element (1) fitted inside the insulation material (5), elements (2, 3) for feeding electric energy to said radiant element (1), and a channel (7) formed in said body (6) and said thermal insulation material (5) in order to pass the radiation generated by said radiant element (1) to the gas under measurement. According to the description, at least the thermal insulation material (5) adapted in close proximity to the radiant element (1) has a low thermal conductivity and the emissivity of the radiant surface (11) adapted in close proximity to the radiant element (1) is greater than 0.5 at the operating temperature of the source.

    Abstract: The invention concerns a measurement sensor, which, for analysis of gas components in a gas mixture G can be placed in contact with the gas mixture being measured, in which an electric signal or electrical signals are obtain- ed from the sensor to be fed to the device, which issues the measurement result. The measurement sensor contains an infrared radiation source 1 and at least a combination of a filter 11a with small beam width and a detector 9a, as well as a measurement gap 4 between this radiation source and the filter-detector combination for the gas mixture to form a nondispersive measurement arrangement. The measurement sensor includes a connection part 26 to attach the sensor on an opening 16 in wall 27, which encloses the gas mixture and a measurement rod 2, which extends from this connection part into the gas volume 25 and contains within the cross-sectional area bounded by wall 27 of gas volume 25 at least one boundary surface 3, 30 of the measurement gap 4, as well as a heat generating element 1 to heat the surfaces, which reflect or transmit the radiation R flowing from the radiation source to the detector.
