Abstract:
This invention relates to the preparation of a supported modulating film having a permanent orange yellow imaged layer of the homopolymer of crystalline 5,7-dodecadiyn-1,12-bis(isopropyl carbamate) monomer having structure (I) or a yellow imaged layer fromthe homopolymer of 10,12-docosadiyndioic acid monomer; said monomer having structure (II) or the homopolymer of a crystalline diacetylene cinnamate monomer (III) and to the use of said film as a blue light modulator in the production of master printing plates or printed circuit boards.
Abstract:
A method for determining a level of exposure to radiation utilizes a radiation dosimeter (10) comprising a substrate (12) provided with a radiation sensitive layer or patch (14) having an optical density which varies in accordance with the degree of radiation exposure. In addition, the substrate is provided with optically readable coding (16a, 16b) which identifies one or more encoded mathematical parameters for enabling an automated calculation of dosage from a detected optical density change of the radiation sensitive material. Each dosimeter is provided with a unique identification code encoded in the bar coding on the dosimeter substrate, to enable memory storage of pre-exposure optical densities for multiple dosimeters.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the exposure of a recording film to an image transmitting device and to a thermochromic polyacetylenic recording film comprising, as an imageable medium, a supported, imageable crystalline polyacetylene monomer layer in contact with an imageable polyacetylen polymer in a mole ratio of between about 1:1 and about 1000:1 which medium additionally can contain an energy absorbing, heat transferring agent having an optical absorbance at a wavelength similar to that of the image transmitting device.
Abstract:
A radiation dosimetry method and associated devices for carrying out the method are disclosed herein. More particularly, a method and associated apparatus which compensates for variations in amounts of a radiation sensitive material in a radiation dosimetry film is provided.

Abstract:
Abstract:
This invention relates to photochromic filaments composed of the lithium salt of a conjugated, polymerizable polyacetylene having a carboxylic acid or carboxylate terminal group wherein the length to width ratio of said filaments is between about 5000:1 and about 5:1 and the average length of the filament is up to about 5cm. The invention also pertains to the use of said salts in maximized radiation sensitivity for imaging, radiation dose measurement or mapping and detection of radiation fields.
Abstract:
A multi-ply radiation dosage indicator (10), and method of manufacture, is disclosed including a first ply (12) having visible indicia (14) thereon and a second ply (16) having a radiation sensitive zone (18) overlying the indicia (14) of the first ply (12). The radiation sensitive zone (18) is capable of changing opacity in response to exposure to a radiation dosage exceeding a predetermined threshold so as to change the visibility of the indicia (14) thereby providing an indication as to whether the indicator (10) has become irradiated. An optical filter ply (26) may be provided overlying the indicia (14), and the indicator (10) also may be provided with a transparent protective outer ply (19). A pressure sensitive adhesive ply (30) having a removable release sheet (32) is employed for attaching the indicator (10) to a substrate.
