Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the angular position or the rotational movement of a shaft is described below. According to one exemplary embodiment, the apparatus has a first housing part and also a shaft which is arranged in the first housing part and can rotate about a rotation axis. The shaft has a bore which extends along the rotation axis from an end shaft of the shaft into the shaft. The apparatus further includes a magnet unit with at least one permanent magnet which is arranged within the bore and is fastened to the shaft, a second housing part with a projection which extends along the rotation axis into the bore, and also a magnetic field sensor element which is arranged in the interior of the projection of the second housing part.

Abstract: A system is provided with a magnetic field sensor being positioned in a magnetic field of a magnet that is coupled to a rotatable driving shaft. The magnetic field sensor is configured to sense a rotation of the magnetic field in response to a rotation of the rotatable driving shaft, and generate an angle sensor signal based on an orientation angle of the magnetic field. The angle sensor signal includes angular values that represent an absolute orientation angle of the rotatable driving shaft. The system includes a memory storing a mapping of values of a patterned signal to the angular values, electronic circuitry configured to generate, based on the angular values and the stored mapping, the patterned signal, and a signal generator circuit configured to generate a signal representing the absolute orientation angle of the rotatable driving shaft based on the angle sensor signal.

Abstract: Rotational angle sensor systems and methods are provided for detecting an angular position of a movable structure. The movable structure may be configured to rotate about an axis of rotation between a first rotational position and a second rotational position. A magnet may have a magnetic field pattern with a magnetic field orientation and an angle sensor may be configured to detect the magnetic field pattern and generate one or more signals, based on the magnetic field orientation, corresponding to a rotational position of the movable structure. Additionally, a first one of the magnet and the angle sensor is configured to rotate about the axis of rotation relative to a second one of the magnet and the angle sensor that is rotationally fixed such that the magnetic field orientation changes relative to the angle sensor as the movable structure rotates about the axis of rotation.

Abstract: A sensor arrangement is provided. The sensor arrangement includes a rotatable shaft extending along a rotation axis; a magnet module coupled to the rotatable shaft configured to generate a magnetic field; and a sensing element configured to sense a rotating magnetic field caused by the magnet module upon rotation of the rotatable shaft around the rotation axis. The rotatable shaft incudes a bore extending within a shaft end portion along the rotation axis. The magnet module is coupled to at least one face of the bore and configured to generate the magnetic field within the bore. The sensing element has a sensitive spot, the sensitive spot being arranged within the bore and exposed to the rotating magnetic field.

Abstract: The described techniques address the issues associated with conventional OoS sensor systems by mounting a magnetized ring onto a rotatable shaft for which an angular position is to be measured. Specific sensor configurations are disclosed regarding each magnetic sensor's position with respect to one another and each magnetic sensor's position with respect to the rotatable shaft. The described configurations provide a stray-field robust solution due to the specific magnetic sensor configurations such that, when stray fields are present, pairs of magnetic sensors are exposed to essentially the same stray field components, which thus cancel one another. Thus, the angle of the rotatable shaft as a function of the measured strength of the magnetic field components at any time instant can be calculated even in the present of stray magnetic fields.
