Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the absorptivity and water resistance of ink, and enhance printing quality under the low temperature environment by providing on a base material an ink receptive coating layer containing a specific content of a nitric ester or the like of a carboxyalkyl cellulose and polyalkylene glycohol respectively. SOLUTION: There is provided on a base material with an ink receptive coating layer containing 75-95 wt.% nitric acid of a carboxyalkyl cellulose or the like material and 5-25 wt.% polyalkylene glycohol, thereby producing an ink jet recording body having a superior printing quality under a low temperature environment. Nitric acid or the like material of carboxyalkyl cellulose (CNC) has a structure in which a carboxyalkyl group and a nitric acid ester group are contained as substitutes in a cellulose skeletal hydroxyl group, and for this, there is employed preferably a substance wherein the substitutional degree of a carboxyalkyl group is 0.3-0.9 and the substitutional degree of a nitric acid ester group is 0.9-2.3 per piece of a glucose anhydride unit.
