    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flocculant for sludge which has low viscosity even at high concentration, and expresses high flocculation effect to sludge.SOLUTION: A flocculant for sludge is formed of water-insoluble particles in which a polymer having an ionic group is bonded to a surface of a nuclear particle by covalent bonding. A weight-average molecular weight of the polymer having the ionic group is 10,000-500,000. A median diameter of the water-insoluble particle is 0.01-100 μm. Content of the polymer having the ionic group in the water-insoluble particle is 0.2-30 mass%.
