    Abstract: There is disclosed an optimal search method of DS-CDMA signals consisted of time-multiplexed pilot symbols and control symbols capable of maximizing the performance of a receiver when the signal is searched or SNR is measured and apparatus thereof. Further, the present invention proposes a method of maximizing the performance of a searcher using basically both energy of the pilot symbol and the control symbol wherein coherent integral lengths for two regions are differentiated when the receiver searches the signals, and different weights are given to the two regions when a coherent correlation value is finally non-coherently added, and a method of effectively estimating SNR.

    Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for discontinuously transmitting/receiving packets for low- power consumption of a terminal in a cellular system for packet transmission. The present research provides a method and apparatus that can perform a low-power consuming operation when a terminal is in active state in a cellular system. The method for discontinuously transmitting/receiving packet data to reduce power consumption of a terminal in a cellular system, including the steps of : a) establishing discontinuous reception/transmission (DRX/DTX) parameters including discontinuous DRX/DTX cycle information for terminals operating in a transmission suspension mode, which is a sub-state of an active state; and b) performing DRX/DTX based on the DRX/DTX parameters in the terminals operating in the transmission suspension mode.

    Abstract: In a cellular system in which OFDM is used, a forward link synchronization channel, a common pilot channel structure, an initial cell searching method of a mobile station, and an adjacent cell searching method for handover are required. A method of transmitting a forward synchronization signal in a wireless communication system according to the present invention includes generating a frame comprised of a plurality of sync blocks; and transmitting the frame through a forward link, wherein the frame comprises primary synchronization channel sequences which provide timing information of the sync blocks and a plurality of secondary synchronization channel sequences which provide timing information of the frame, wherein a cell identifier is specified by a combination of the primary synchronization channel sequence and a hopping code word specified by the plurality of the secondary synchronization channel sequences Therefore, the cell searching time can be efficiently reduced in an OFDM system.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A repetitive transceiving device/method of non-memory error correction channel coding are provided to maximumly obtain time diversity of a demodulated symbol, when repetitively transmitting a coded signal through the non-memory error correction channel coding. CONSTITUTION: In a transmitting unit(100), an information generator(110) generates data to be transmitted. A coding unit(120) performs channel coding for the data outputted from the information generator(110) and repeats the channel coded data, to output a symbol to be transmitted. A symbol transmitter(130) receives the symbol to be transmitted, and multiplexes and modulates the symbol with another symbols, for outputting to a receiving unit(200). The receiving unit(200) receives a signal transmitted from the transmitting unit(100), for demodulation, demultiplexing, repetitive restoring, and channel coding, to obtain information.

    Abstract: The invention provides a method of generating a downlink signal and searching a cell on the basis of the downlink signal in an OFDM-based cellular system. The downlink signal includes a plurality of synchronization blocks each having a plurality of sub-frames, and a synchronization pattern composed of a combination of a cell group identification code for identifying a cell group and a frame synchronization identification code for indicating a frame start point is generated in each of the synchronization blocks. Different frame synchronization identification codes are allocated to the synchronization blocks.
