An object-based interactive multimedia contents authoring apparatus and method treats each body existing in video, audio and static images as one object to provide various editing/authoring functions for object-based interactive multimedia contents, to re-edit edited/authored results, and to execute interactive manipulation on an object basis to thereby edit user interactivity. For the purpose, the apparatus includes a user interfacing unit for providing an interface to edit object-based interactive multimedia contents by using a multimedia information editing and authoring tool, an editorial information processing unit for converting the multimedia contents supplied from the user interfacing unit to the form applicable to an object-based internal material structure, storing the converted contents, and changing the form of the interactive multimedia contents information stored as the internal material structure to the file form, and a media coding and decoding unit for encoding and decoding the interactive multimedia contents information.

The present invention discloses an apparatus and a method for transmitting a packet and an apparatus and a method for receiving a packet in an MPEG media transport (MMT) system. The apparatus for transmitting the packet transmits the packet from the MMT system, and comprises an MMT packetizing portion for generating an MMT packet based on an inputted presentation unit, wherein the MMT packetizing portion generates the MMT packet by comprising at least one of presentation time stamp (PTS) information, which is timing information that indicates a presentation time of the presentation unit to a header of an E layer, information for measuring a network jitter to a header of a D layer, or information for media synchronization.

The present invention relates to a heterogeneous network-based linked broadcast content transmitting/receiving system and method. A transmission system generates a basic content stream on basic content constituting broadcast content and transmits the generated basic content stream to a terminal through a broadcast network, and also generates an additional content stream on additional content linked to the basic content and transmits the generated additional content stream to a terminal through a communication network. At least one of linkage playback information on the basic content and linkage playback information on the additional content is further transmitted to the terminal. Additionally, a reception terminal receives the basic content stream, the additional content stream, and the linkage playback information, and then synchronizes the basic content with the additional content and plays them back in order to playback broadcast content in real time.

A video encoding method and apparatus are provided. The video encoding method includes determining whether a current block includes an affine-transformation object having an affine transformation; if the current block includes an affine-transformation object, generating a prediction block by performing affine transformation-based motion compensation on the current block in consideration of an affine transformation of the affine-transformation object; and if the current block does not include any affine-transformation object, generating a prediction block by performing motion vector-based motion compensation on the current block using a motion vector of the current block. Therefore, it is possible to achieve high video encoding/decoding efficiency even when a block to be encoded or decoded includes an affine transformation.

The present invention discloses an apparatus and a method for transmitting a packet and an apparatus and a method for receiving a packet, based on a timing model of an MPEG media transport (MMT) system, which is integrated by considering the advantages of a timing model in an MPEG-2 system and an RTP timing model. The apparatus for transmitting the packet transmits the packet from the MMT system, and comprises: a video stream that is encoded based on an input picture; and an MMT packetizing portion for generating the MMT packet by packetizing an audio stream that corresponds to the video stream, wherein the MMT packetizing portion generates the MMT packet by including synchronization information, which is generated based on a system time clock (STC) that is a master program clock for a video and audio encoder, and an MMT buffering delay. As a result, synchronization of various media sources, measurement of a packet arrival jitter, as well as STC clock locking of the apparatus for transmitting and the apparatus for receiving the MMT can be achieved.

The transmission device relates to a transmission device for a program-linked stereoscopic broadcasting service, and comprises: a real time stream encoder for encoding a reference image and generating a real time stream; a non-real-time (NRT) stream encoder for generating an NRT stream on the basis of an additional image; an image synchronization information generator for generating a stream of a service signaling and image synchronization information - service signaling and image synchronization information include event information table and program map table - for synchronization of the reference image and the additional image, on the basis of 3D contents synchronized information; and a re-mutiplexer for generating a program-linked stereoscopic broadcasting stream by multiplexing the real time stream, the NRT stream, the service signaling, and the image synchronization information stream.

Provided are a method and a device for transmitting a broadcasting service, for signaling non-real-time (NRT) 3D broadcasting contents. The device for transmitting a broadcasting service comprises: an NRT contents encoder for encoding stereoscopic image contents including a reference image and an additional image, and generating an NRT stream; an NRT signaling information encoder for generating an NRT signaling information including at least one of a service map table (SMT) corresponding to the contents, and a non-real-time-information table (NRT-IT); and a multiplex unit for multiplexing the NRT stream and the NRT signaling information, and transmitting to a reception device. Thus, the present invention enables the provision of contents even when the reference image and the additional image are encoded in a dual stream format.

A broadcasting system for an interactive data service and a service method thereof are provided to enable a user to receive a service linked with broadcast contents by receiving a data service through a broadcast network. A decoder(50) receives and decodes broadcasting contents including user interaction contents. When the user interaction corresponding to the user interaction contents is generated, a node manager extracts return channel information for transmitting the user interaction result. According to the return channel information, a communication network connection unit(70) transmits the user interaction result. The return channel information comprises the address of a return channel server.

According to the present invention, a transmission apparatus and method and a reception method and apparatus for providing a 3D service are disclosed. The transmission method for providing the 3D service while making a reference image transmitted in real-time interwork with an additional image transmitted separately from the reference image includes a real-time reference image stream generating step of generating a real-time reference image stream based on the reference image and transmitting the generated real-time reference image stream to a receiving side in real-time and an additional image transmitting step of transmitting the additional image providing the 3D service in interworking with the reference image to the receiving side separately from the reference image stream, wherein the real-time reference image stream includes a linkage information, which is information relating to the additional image to be interworking with the reference image and synchronization information for synchronization with the reference image and the additional image and content.
