    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for reassembling a DOCSIS(Data-Over-Cable Service Interface Specifications) MAC(Media Access Control) frame in a cable modem having a plurality of receiving channels are provided to reassemble a DOCSIS MAC frame by extracting the DOCSIS MAC frame from MPEG2-TS packets. Downlink channel receiving modules(111,112) receive a RF signal, and outputs a MPEG2-TS packet signal. MAC frame reassembling buffer writing modules(121,122) store data to MAC frame reassembling buffers(141,142). MAC reassembling control modules(131,132) control a MPEG header and a point field. MAC frame reassembling butter reading modules(151,152) store one complete DOCSIS MAC frame to a MAC frame buffer. MAC frame buffer modules(161,162) store one complete DOCSIS MAC frame.
