According to the present invention, by performing intra-prediction on a current block using neighboring blocks which have been previously coded and then transmitted, overhead related to a bit of an intra-prediction mode is decreased, and thus compression rate can be enhanced.

An interlayer prediction method according to the present invention comprises: a step of determining the position of a reference criteria sample corresponding to an enhancement criteria sample in a reference layer on the basis of the position of an enhancement criteria sample that belongs to an enhancement layer; a step of determining at least one reference layer block in the reference layer on the basis of the position of the reference criteria sample; and a step of predicting the current block that belongs to the enhancement layer on the basis of the movement information of said at least one reference layer block.

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for encoding and decoding video information. The video information encoding method according to the present invention comprises: a step of performing a prediction on a current block; and a step of entropy-encoding the predicted information and transmitting the encoded information. The step of performing a prediction comprises: a step of acquiring motion information on a neighboring block from the neighboring block of the current block; and a step of determining motion information on the current block on the basis of the acquired motion information. The transmitting step also involves transmitting information required for the prediction of the current block. According to the present invention, the complexity of video compression and the quantity of transmitted information may be reduced.

Provided are a method and an apparatus for encoding images using template matching and a method and an apparatus for decoding images. The method for encoding the images can determine a template of an encoding target block and can determine a matching search target image for performing a matching search with the determined template among the recovered reference images. In addition, an optimum prediction block can be determined on the basis of the determined matching search target image and the template of the encoding target block.

Provided is an entropy decoding method. The entropy decoding method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: drawing context information about a symbol to be decoded using at least either context information about corresponding layer or context information about other layers; and performing entropy decoding on the symbol using the drawn context information. According to the present invention, image compression efficiency can be enhanced.

Disclosed are a video encoding/decoding method and device. The video encoding method may comprise the steps of: establishing an adaptive filter corresponding to the current image; comparing the adaptive filter established in this way with at least one existing adaptive filter contained in a filter list; establishing whether to add the adaptive filter established in the way described to the adaptive filter list, based on the results of the comparison; and encoding the current image by using an adaptive filter contained in the filter list. In this way, encoding efficiency can be improved.
