Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the corrosion of materials in the water tank of a flush toilet by making an aldehyde compound represented by a specified formula coexist with a bleaching agent contg. halogen and remaining in the water tank. CONSTITUTION:When a bleaching agent contg. halogen is used in a flush toilet as a cleaning agent for an autocleaner, it remains in the water tank. A dialdehyde compound represented by formula I or II (where each of X and Y is H, hydroxyl, lower alkyl or lower hydroxyalkyl, and n is 1-8) is made to coexist with the remaining bleaching agent contg. halogen by 0.05-3pts.wt. per 1pt. halogen. One or more kinds of compounds selected among metallic hypochlorites, metallic hypobromites, dichloroisocyanuric acid, etc. are used as the bleaching agent contg. halogen.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compsn. which has excellent solubility and dispersibility in water and does not exhibit scattering, by mixing a water-soluble inorg. salt, an aldehyde and water with a water-soluble cellulose derivative, granulating the mixture and drying it. CONSTITUTION:A mixture consisting of 100pts.wt. water-soluble cellulose derivative such as sodium carboxymethyl-cellulose, 10-300pts.wt. water-soluble inorg. salt such as Na2SO4, 0.01-5pts.wt. aldehyde such as glyoxal and 5-150pts.wt. water, is granulated and then dried with heating to produce the titled compsn. The water-soluble cellulose derivative is in a finely divided form. When this is introduced into water, a part in contact with water is caused to gel. The remaining part is prevented from being contacted with water. Thus, the formation of undissolved lumps can be inhibited in this process.
