    Abstract: A method and reading device to read data from a tag device are provided. The method and reader are suitable for mobile phone environments. A parameter set command including a first value indicating a number of reading cycles is received from a mobile processor. An auto-read command for instructing the reading device to perform a reading operation reading the data from the tag device automatically is also received from the mobile processor. The auto-read command includes a second value indicating a number of repeat cycles. A number of the reading operation is calculated by multiplying the first value and the second value, and the reading operation is performed the calculated number of times.

    Abstract: A reading device and a method of operating a reading device, suitable for mobile phone environments, are provided. According to a specific command instructing a mode change received from a mobile processor, a second mode is entered from a first mode. The reading device processes a data field of a message according to a first protocol in the first mode and according to a second protocol in the second mode. Data according to the second protocol is received from a tag device. A first message including a first type field and a first data field is generated when the reading device is in the second mode. The received data according to the second protocol is inserted into the first data field. The first type field specifies that the first data field is generated according to the second protocol. The generated first message is transmitted to the mobile processor.

    Abstract: A reading device and a method of reading data from a tag device, suitable for mobile phone environments, are provided. A command received from a mobile processor includes a first code specifying an automatic read command and a second code specifying types of a tag device and which part of the tag device is to be read, and instructs the reading device to perform an auto-reading operation. The auto-reading operation involves a sub-reading operation being performed a predetermined number of times. The auto-reading operation is performed, and a first notification message including the second code and data that is read from the tag device is generated and transmitted to the mobile processor. A second notification message is generated and transmitted to the mobile processor where the auto-reading operation is completed. The second notification message includes the first code and a result code specifying that the reading operation is completed.

According to a first command received from a mobile processor, a second mode is entered from a first mode. The first mode uses a first protocol for communicating between the reading device and the mobile processor, and the second mode uses a second protocol for communicating between the reading device and a tag device.
