Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus for treating laundry. According to one embodiment, an apparatus for treating laundry comprises: a first treating apparatus having a first front panel formed on the front side thereof and a first drum for accommodating laundry therein; a second treating apparatus disposed on the top of the first treating apparatus, and having a second front panel formed on the front side thereof and a second drum for accommodating laundry therein; and a control panel provided between the first front panel and the second front panel, connected by means of a signal to the first treating apparatus and the second treating apparatus, and providing a user interface (UI) for controlling at least one of the first treating apparatus and the second treating apparatus. The control panel comprises: a cover panel including a front portion forming the exterior, a top portion extending rearward from the upper side of the front portion, and a bottom portion extending rearward from the lower side of the front portion; and an electric module coupled to the cover panel at the rear of the cover panel, wherein the electric module comprises: a supporter having a front surface in the form of a panel, and coupled to the top portion and the bottom portion of the cover panel; and a flat display located in front of the supporter and supported by the supporter.
