    Abstract: Disclosed is a laundry treatment apparatus equipped with an exhaust type drying system, which is capable of not only enhancing drying efficiency while reducing consumption of energy and cooling water required to dry laundry, but also achieving smooth exhaust of air even when a water trap is formed in a drainage duct. The laundry treatment apparatus includes a casing, an outer tub, an inner tub, a drainage duct for guiding wash water stored in the outer tub to be discharged to the outside of the casing, a first exhaust duct connected, at one end thereof, to the drainage duct, to guide air present in the outer tub into the drainage duct, and a second exhaust duct upwardly branched from the drainage duct, to exhaust air present in the drainage duct to the outside of the outer tub or the outside of the cashing.

    Abstract: A defrosting device includes a heating unit filled with a working fluid and including an active heating part heated to a first temperature that can evaporate the working fluid, and a passive heating part positioned at a rear side of the active heating part and heated to a lower temperature than the first temperature. The defrosting device also includes a heat pipe disposed adjacent to an evaporator to transfer heat to the evaporator while circulating working fluid heated by the active heating part, the heat pipe including an entrance portion configured to receive working fluid evaporated by the active heating part, and a return portion connected adjacent to the passive heating part and configured to receive working fluid that has condensed after circulating through the heat pipe. Condensed working fluid received at the heating unit first passes through the passive heating part before being reheated at the active heating part.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a refrigerator comprising a cabinet in which a freezing compartment and a refrigerating compartment are vertically provided; and an evaporator installed in the freezing compartment, wherein the evaporator comprises: an evaporator case which is formed in the form of a hollow box of which both sides are open, and has a food storage space formed therein; a cooling tube which is formed in the evaporator case in a predetermined pattern, and in which a coolant for cooling is charged; and a sheath heater which is disposed on the outside of the evaporator case to be adjacent to at least one surface of the evaporator case, and when power is applied, generates heat such that the heat for defrosting is transferred to the evaporator case. The present invention reduces the defrosting time compared to the existing natural defrosting and thus can maintain the freshness of food, and increases the cooling efficiency which was decreased due to frost, and thus, can reduce power consumption. Further, the defrosting efficiency by the sheath heater can be improved by a reflection member, and an inflow of heat, generated when defrosting, into the refrigerating compartment can be prevented by a heat insulation member.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a defrosting apparatus comprising: a heater case comprising a heat pipe seating part formed to extend from one surface thereof in a recessed shape and a heater receiving part formed to extend to be parallel with the heat pipe seating part; a heater which is mounted in the heater receiving part so as to emit heat when power is applied thereto; a heat pipe which has a flow path through which a working fluid filled therein flows, which has a part seated on the heat pipe seating part, and which is disposed to be adjacent to a cooling pipe of an evaporator such that heat is radiated to the cooling pipe of the evaporator by means of the working fluid at a high temperature which is heated by the heater and then is transferred; and a holder which is detachably coupled to the heater case so as to cover the heat pipe seated on the heat pipe seating part.
