    Abstract: A network system is provided. The network system includes an utility area network including an energy generation component, a home area network including an energy consumption component consuming energy generated in the energy generation component to perform a function according to an operation course, an energy metering component disposed in the utility area network or the home area network, the energy metering component recognizing energy information or additional information except for the energy information, and an energy management component disposed in the utility area network or the home area network, the energy management component managing the energy information or the additional information with respect to the energy consumption component. The energy consumption component includes a control unit for controlling an operation of at least one course component constituting the operation course to restrict the operation of the one course component based on the energy information or the additional information.

    Abstract: Provided are a network system and a method of controlling the same. The network system includes an energy supply part including a plurality of power supply sources, an energy metering part communicating with the plurality of power supply sources, the energy metering measuring energy supplied from the plurality of power supply sources, an energy management part receiving energy-related information supplied from the energy supply part, and an energy consumption part consuming power supplied from the energy supply part, the energy consumption part being operable and controllable by the energy management part. At least one power supply source of the plurality of power supply sources is selected according to an order of priority of a power supply, based on energy information related to the plurality of power supply sources. Thus, the power supply source having minimum costs is selected to efficiently manage energy within an intellectual power supply network.

    Abstract: Provided is a network system including an advanced metering infrastructure, an energy management system, a computer, and a diagnostic program. The advanced metering infrastructure interactively communicates with a power supply source and measures energy from the power supply source. The energy management system is connected to the advanced metering infrastructure to communicate with it and controls an operation of an electric product based on operation information of the electric product or energy information from the power supply source. The computer is connected to the electric product or energy management system to communicate with the electric product or energy management system. The diagnostic program is performed by the energy management system or computer and diagnoses a trouble of the electric product. An electric product having a trouble is remotely diagnosed to provide a quick countermeasure, thereby detecting the cause of the trouble without a service engineer and improving a user's convenience.
