Abstract: A method of cold gas spraying, to coat a substrate or to produce a moulding, comprises the acceleration of unmelted particles to the surface of the substrate using a gas jet, wherein electrically conductive particles are sprayed and particles having a relatively lower, or no electrical conductivity, are also sprayed. The particles with a relatively lower electrical conductivity may be electrical insulators or dielectrics. Preferably, the electrically conductive particles are superconductors, such as niobium-titanium (NbTi) or niobium-tantalum (NbTa). The particles may be nanoparticles. The electrically conductive particles and the particles with relatively low electrical conductivity may be applied alternately or together. The insulator can be copper. The method is used to produce rotors or stators which may be used in electric motors. Alternatively, the method is used to produce coils, particularly superconducting coils, for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) devices.

Abstract: The method involves exciting a gaseous or liquid medium flowing in a pipeline by a vibration generator. A frequency of vibration transferred over the gaseous or liquid medium is detected by a vibration sensor that is spaced apart from the vibration generator. The excitation of the gaseous or liquid medium is provided in an upstream manner by the detection of the vibration frequency. A flow speed and/or flow rate of the gaseous or liquid medium in the pipeline is determined from a frequency shift of the detected vibration frequency. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining a flow speed and/or flow rate of a gaseous or liquid medium flowing in a pipeline.
