THE METHOD COMPRISES INTRODUCING FUEL INTO THE FUEL INLET (16), RECEIVING AIR THROUGH THE AIR INLET (14, 40, 88) BY INSPIRATION, AND FEEDING A GAS THROUGH THE SECONDARY GAS INLET (22, 52, 98, 152), THE FLOW RATE AND CONTENT OF THE GAS FED THROUGH THE SECONDARY GAS INLET (22, 52, 98, 152) BEING SELECTED TO RESULT IN A DESIRED AIR TO FUEL RATIO THROUGH THE OUTLET (24, 48). Abstract: A furnace (10), firing pattern and method of operating a heater that employs a combination of hearth burners (46) and wall burners (56) for the cracking of hydrocarbons is described. The firing pattern leads to improvements in the uniformity of the coil metal (26) temperatures and vertical heat flux profiles over the firebox elevation. The hearth burners (46) operate with a stoichiometric excess of air while the wall burners (56) operate with less than the stoichiometric amount of air.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of controlling the air to fuel ratio in a burner containing a venturi assembly. The venturi includes an air inlet, a primary fuel inlet with a converging section, a throat portion downstream from the converging section, a diverging section downstream from the throat portion, an outlet, and a secondary gas inlet disposed downstream from the converging section and upstream from the outlet. The method comprises introducing fuel into the fuel inlet, receiving air through the air inlet by inspiration, and feeding a gas through the secondary gas inlet, the flow rate and content of the gas fed through the secondary gas inlet being selected to result in a desired air to fuel ratio through the outlet. A method of firing a heater, a burner, a furnace and firing control systems also are disclosed.

Abstract: Se revela en la presente un método para controlar la proporción de aire a combustible en un quemador que contiene un conjunto de venturi. El venturi incluye una entrada de aire, una entrada de combustible primaria con una sección convergente, una porción de garganta corriente abajo de la sección convergente, una sección divergente corriente abajo de la porción de garganta, una salida y una entrada de gas secundaria dispuesta corriente abajo de la sección convergente y corriente arriba de la salida. El método comprende introducir combustible a la entrada de combustible, recibir aire a través de la entrada de aire mediante inspiración y alimentar un gas a través de la entrada de gas secundaria, la velocidad de flujo y contenido del gas alimentado a través de la entrada de gas secundaria es seleccionada para dar como resultado una proporción de aire a combustible deseada a través de la salida. También se revela un método para caldear un calentador, un quemador, un horno y sistemas de control de incendio.
