Abstract: A low release effort eccentric double pawl vehicle latch includes a ratchet, primary pawl, auxiliary ratchet and secondary pawl in combination with a secure lock lever. The secure lock lever selectively inhibits movement of the secondary pawl to prevent premature or unintended opening of the latch. A drive mechanism sequences movement of the secure lock lever and secondary pawl to open the latch. Upon reset, the drive mechanism drives the auxiliary ratchet back to its closed state and in the process the auxiliary ratchet can engage and return the secondary pawl back to a closed state in the event of an insufficient bias force thereon.

Abstract: A power latch assembly for motor vehicle closure applications is provided that is normally actuated via electrical signals whereat inside and outside door handles are mechanically disengaged and wherein the inside and outside door handles can be selectively and/or automatically changed for mechanically engaged actuation. The inside door handles can be provided to be mechanically actuatable in direct response to selective disengagement of a child lock. The outside door handles can be provided to be mechanically actuatable in direct response to a crash condition.

Abstract: An enclosure assembly for enclosing an electronic controller. The enclosure assembly comprises a housing having a plurality of cavities formed therein for receiving electrical components of the electrical controller. The enclosure assembly further includes an over-molded part formed from an elastic material that lines at least a portion of each cavity. The over-molded part reduces the effect of deceleration forces on the electrical component that is received in the cavity thereby protecting it from damage. The over-molded part includes a retention feature that locates the over-molded part within the cavity and secures it to the enclosure assembly. An interference fit is provided between the over-molded part and the electrical component received in the cavity.
